Tapps are a high-energy/dance project from Allan Coelho and Tony DaCosta and features vocalists Barbara Doust and Candy Berthiaume. Their music from 1983 to present has always been a welcomed feat to dance floors. Many of their singles are club classics that are now featured and rediscovered by many dance music enthusiasts. “In The Heat Of The Night” is their 1985 single – produced by Carolynne Saxton and John Forbes. This track is a departure from their fast moving energy pieces and takes on more of an 80’s rock-anthem in the after-hours form. A bit moody and emotional yet the essence of the single is the Tapps recipe which always brings together the group as a standing project for the dance floor.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental version of “In The Heat Of The Night” and reworked them for this new ReStructure Mix. There is more of the vocal and verse laid out for the power of this heartache in the night track. New drums are also added to give it a new shine.
