Whats started as a studio project for disco producer Jerry Cucuzzella and diva, Carol Jiani and the single "Get On Up And Do It Again" later became one of Canada's big disco artists.

Suzy Q was officially an artists in 1981 with the release of the first featuring the funky-sleaze title single "Get On Up And Do It Again" - but minus the 12" singles vocals by Carol Jiani - the project credits Michelle Mills with vocals. There are many singles following this period and a second LP. It was during 1986 when high energy was solid in clubs and the single "Can't Live Without Your Love" was released in Canada under 'Suzy Q' and in USA as 'Suzy'.

I have taken the original import 12" single 'extended version' and transformed it into a bits-and-pieces ReStructure Mix using the fabulous dreamy vocals and the strong percussion base. It has been a favorite of mine and I know of many crowded dance floors! This re-visit to the energy and beauty of it's flow was a pleasure to resolve.

Carol Lloyd is a disco artist produced by Bruce Weeden - a songwriter, engineer and guitar player who worked along side Boris Midney on the USA European Connection ("Come Into My Heart/Good Loving") album and also the similar claim-to-the-dance floor group, Ultimate - where most of the studio players take part in both studio projects. Carol is a fierce singer and brings to mind a sassy Melissa Manchester of sorts when you hear the soul and heart of her delivery.

"Score" is from the LP by the same name and features the dreamy sound that Weeden and arranger, Mike Forte created with Juliano Salerni with Ultimate - as a matter a fact the back-up vocalist on this project are the trio from USA European Connection's first two projects. Also featured this album are Marc Paul Simon and iconic percussion by Larry Washington.

I have taken the 12" version of "Score" and recreated a "pep-rally" ReStructure Mix using parts of the song which give it lasting sound both on the dance floor and a toe tapping audio experience. Adding some words of wisdom from a friend at the tail end.

This ReStructure Mix was requested from Nick and Lindsay and is dedicated to their love of great dance music - which keeps me motivated!

Eddie Kendricks solo career was just as exciting at his time with Motown's classic group The Temptations. His 1978 LP "Vintage" contained his dance single "Ain't No Smoke Without Fire" produced by Jeff Lane. The track gave Eddie an opportunity to deliver a yearning affection for a true love and a few pointers on how to stay in love.

I have taken the 12" single and given it a new ReStructure Mix to lighten up the groovy-disco feel with some pounding drums and raging "fire"! It is a nice venture back into the soulful sound of Kendricks who gave us the funky Tamla classic "Girl You Need A Change Of Mind" in 1973.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Rick and Dean of Australia - two of the best men of the disco beat and help to keep the energy flowing through my soul and heart - I love you guys!

Eruption is a band from the late 70s founded by producers Frank Farian and Rainer M. Ehrhadrt and features Eric Kingsley, Gerry Williams, Greg Perrineau, Morgan Perrineau and Precious Wilson on
vocals for the first 3 albums.

Their first big hit in 1977 was a cover of Ann Peebles' "I Can't Stand The Rain" (from 1974) which became a big disco smash hit. Their second German released LP was titled "One Way Ticket" and featured the title track - which also became a late 70s disco hit.

I have taken the 12" long and short vocal mix and recreated another ReStructure Mix to push and pull that great chorus and those funky-ass bongos. Always a favorite and now in a new form!

VHF is a studio project from Rod Gammons who also brought us Lewis Berry, Amanda Scott, Sadie Nine and Smalltown Boys. "Love In The Night" is a 1987 high energy tribute to E.G. Daily's "Love In The Shadows" from 1985. It is the identical instrumental and melody set to new lyrics - which was quite a phase for high energy when bands like Offshore (with Lonnie Gordon) again took the vocal from "No Regrets" and created "All Work and No Play".

I have taken the 12" version on Record Shack and given it a whole new ReStructure Mix breaking the energy down into parts and accentuating the climatic choruses. It is one of the "copy-cat" tracks that always created the proper mood with a crowded dance floor and the right soundtrack for the night club!

Barry Manilow brought the 70s a wonderful collection of pop ballads in a style all of his own. He is truly one of the talents who made love songs feel even warmer.

His memorable disco era hit "Copacabana (At The Copa)" is one of the pop-dance tracks which made disco music alluring for many artists to dabble themselves. His double album "Barry Manilow LIVE" from 1977 featured "New York City Rhythm" which gave the city another meaning for the excitement and diversity of such a city.

I have taken the LP version and ReStructured the song with a few new angles - extending the Latin breaks and accentuating some of the wonderful lyrics for a deeper listening and dance experience. It is an uplifting Broadway-meets-discotheque sound.

Thanks to Paul C. for requesting this little gem. I appreciate the love you have for your city. I can feel it again, in this song.

Disco Tex & His Sex-O-Lettes is Sir Monti Rock III and his outrageous rock and roll review. The project featured many familiar players: Charlie Calello, Denny Randell, Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan. This album plays out like a out-of-bounds concert with a burlesque show and pop and lockers entertaining.

"Get Dancin'" is the the second track from the two sided medley and takes it's sound from the "boogie" sound of the mid-70s. As disco music has always evolved with the times this project may as well been influenced by outrageous tracks like "Disco Duck".

I have take "Get Dancin'" to give it the ReStructure Mix treatment adding a new bass guitar loop and some new beats and effects. It is extended a bit further than the original 4:08 LP version. It was quite fun to work with by trying on my patience, as the beats drop in and out of the original mix.

NOTE: Sir Monti Rock also appears in "Saturday Night Fever" as the club Odyssey DJ ("Love that polyester look...")!

"Fame" is Grace's 1978 LP produced by disco extraordinaire, Mr. Tom Moulton. The side one medley was one most celebrated disco productions of its time. Australian born singer, Helen Reddy dominated the charts in the early 70s with many of her singles. She is one of the well known artists with lasting talent for singing and songwriting.

Her dance repertoire in the late 70s disco scene began with a cover of Kelly Marie's "Make Love To Me" from her 1979 LP "Reddy:. In 1983 her album "Imagination" was the source of her single by the same name. The 12" single was played by those jocks who could program this high-energy/early morning track cleverly. It has always been a favorite of mine and the instrumental has sound that disco bands like Space or Romanelli would weave.

I have take the 12" single and created a new ReStructure Mix adding some "imagination" and new beats. It is a very nice swirling number and deserves a place in the 80s dance movement.

Pamala Stanley is a singer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who hit the disco scene in 1979 with her huge hit, "This Is Hot". A harpsichord lightly trickles and accents the sleaze-like chorus.

Erotic Drum Band is one of the Canadian disco bands that headed the disco boom in 1978 with the LP "Plug Me To Death" - which featured 4 classic percussion driven pieces. This is the kind of disco music from the underground scene and made it way to move dance floors in a new way.

I have taken the LP version of "Plug Me To Death" and reworked this instrumental track for a whole new ReStructure Mix. The killer percussion has always been infectious and builds like a wall of bricks until the whistle break blows it to smithereens!

It has been a question of which came first? Pattie Brooks' "After Dark" which shares the same percussion and and bass line similarities - I say, who gives a fetch? They are both disco classics and deserve a stage of their own.

“Tech-No-Logical World” by Patrick Cowley – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Patrick Cowley’s finale album from 1982 was “Mind Warp” – is tragic that his life was taken from AIDS that year – in album notes he wrote much of the music while ill from his disease and eventually the track “Tech-No-Logical World” was based on the technology of the day yet no cure or knowledge of the disease that would take his life could be found or answered. Thus, the title “techno” and “no” are meaning “no logic” in a tech world.

I have taken the ghostly track which features vocal from the incredible, Paul Parker and paired it with the 1927 Fritz Lang expressionist film, “Metropolis” – which is set in a futuristic time and the social crisis between workers and corporate world take on destruction amidst the so-called perfect landscape.

Both work together thanks to the fantastic technical footage and the ultimate destruction of the metropolis.

The film was directed by Fritz Lang

Carl Douglas released his first LP in 1974 titled “Kun Fu Fighter” produced by Biddu (Biddu Orchestra) – the album marks a piece of funk/disco history with the big hit single, “Kung Fu Fighting” which hit #1 on the soul charts and won the 1974 Grammy Award for best selling single. The song, based on the Kung-Fu movie craze of the time helped to bring disco into a whole new success.

I have taken the 2002 action/comedy film “Kung Pow: Enter The Fist” into this Disco Video Mix and chopped the crazy and hilarious antics of these martial arts masters along with the disco track. The film stars Steve Oedekerk, Fei Lung and Leo Lee.

K.I.D. is a project led by Geoff Bastow (Stainless Steal, Foxx, Patto) who worked with Giorgio Moroder closely during The Munich Years. His performances include the early Donna Summer and Munich Machine albums.

The ensemble of K.I.D. released the single "Don't Stop" in 1980 from their LP "Number One" - it was released in the US in 1981. The sound consisted of heavy synthesizers and Bastow keyboards. It was a nice return to the mechanical disco sound with the uplifting chorus vocals.

I have taken the 12" version of "Don't Stop" and recreated a mix with more of depth and break-wise moments - not leaving out much of that beat-and-clap sound.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Geoff Bastow who sadly passed in 2007.

Alma Faye Brooks is the disco artists who brought the soulful vocal and theme of heartbreak to dance floors in 1977 with "Stop, I Don't Need No Sympathy"- produced by Dominic Sciscente (Black Light Orchestra, Space Project) and Michel Daigle .

Her 1979 LP was a fabulous return to the disco energy ala "torn love affair" with "It's Over" and "Don't Fall In Love" from the LP "Doin' It" - a project full of great surprises. I have taken the 12" version of "Don't Fall In Love" and created a new ReStructure Mix to extended the intro and add a few breaks and effects into the already hot mix by Lee Gagnon.

Denny Randell is a producer and arranger known for his work with artists Terri De Sario, Charlie Calello Orchestra, Odyssey and The Regal Dewy. He brings to life in this 12” single from 1982 John Williams’ magical theme from “E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial)” and adds his own disco touch.

I have taken the 12” version of Randell’s disco version and paired it with scenes from the film. “E.T. (The Extra Terrestrial)” and attempted to bring the single and film together for a glimpse back on the wonderful emotions and feeling they create.

“Just Can’t Help Believing” by Boys Town Gang – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Boys Town Gang is a San Francisco based disco group founded and produced by the late Bill Motley. The first album release featured the fabulous Cynthia Manley creating her rendition of Diana Ross classics “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Remember Me” as a medley which brought the dance community alive again for more years of dancing and hunger for disco music.

“Just Can’t Help Believing” is a cover of the 1970 B.J. Thomas classic ballad –done in the sweet high energy style that Motley was so wonderful to build. The album featured vocals by Jackson Moore and once again answered to the disco connoisseurs dream.

I have taken the song along with the 1977 Neil Simon comedy/romance film, “The Goodbye Girl” starring Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason – a story that focuses on the romance between a struggling actor and a heartbroken dancer who can only look forward to “goodbyes” in relationships thanks to her past. It works well with the heart strings and romance and gives the disco track a new identity.

Erotic Drum Band is a disco concept group from Peter Di Milo (Champagne Explosion, Ann Joy, Nightlife Unlimited, Pussycats, Sugar Band Express) which represented the maturity of the disco sound in the late 70s. Their first LP "Plug Me To Death" is one of the most played albums I can remember during the period for hardcore and progressive clubs.

"Touch Me Where It's Hot" is the second project from 1980 and features the first single release "Pop Pop Shoo Wah" - a bouncy and catchy disco number. It has the lighthearted and energy of a catch-phrase that lifts any ones spirits higher on the dance floor.

I have ReStructured the 12" version and have introduced the fun with more of the synthesizer tracks that pour excitement onto the beats. There are some new breaks and points of the song to give a new meaning to "pop-pop-shoo-wah"!

France Joli burst upon the disco scene in 1979 with her first hit “Come To Me” – with this classic a destined disco chanteuse with a wonderful stature gave dance floors emotion and disco-grooves. Her second LP titled “Tonight” released in 1980 contained another powerhouse dance hall track titled “The Heart To Break The Heart” – a formula similar to her prior bit hit, yet a story all its own.

I have taken “The Heart To Break The Heart” and the 1949 film “The Heiress” starring Olivia de Havilland and Montgomery Clift – the story of a naïve woman who falls for a handsome young man who is a fortune hunter. The story follows an intricate and satisfying end for our heroine and also supplies the heartache and resolution of our disco story.

Scherrie Payne (sister of Freda Payne) became a member of The Supremes in 1973 - 1977 - a powerhouse diva. Her solo career also took shape in the late 70s, 80s and presently with many high energy productions with disco master, Rick Gianatos.

Her 1982 single "Girl, You're In Love/I'm Not In Love" is a fabulous cover of 10cc's classic ballad - done with a touch of diva. This production from Rick Gianatos is a mild-disco rendition during the early 80s and makes the magic of disco live all over again.

I have restructured the US 12" single using both the vocal and dub to recreate a new feeling for Scherrie's wonderful approach to this song. It was always a favorite and now it remains one that I loved bringing alive again.

Ottawan is a disco group produced by Daniel Vangarde (Gibson Brothers, Who's Who) during the big disco boom of the late 70s. Consisting of vocalists from Pam and Pat (a group formed following the success of Ottawan).

'D.I.S.C.O." is now a disc jockey standard used at weddings, and family events since it has that uplifting and "sing-a-long" feel. It is silly at times but has that flavor to make disco music fun and popular among those looking for a good time on the dance floor.

I have ReStructured the original import 12" single on Carerre and create a few more breaks and fun-moments to raise the letters once again: D.I.S.C.O.

“Havah Nagilah” by Azoto – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Azoto released their first disco LP in 1979 titled “Music Makers Ltd” – this was the brainchild of Italian disco producer and arranger, Celso Valli (Tantra, Passengers and Nuggets). Many of the tracks have the essence of Valli’s genius of weaving sequencers, keyboards along with strings and disco bass and beats – it was one of the forerunners in Italo-disco in its early stages.

“Havah Nagilah” is an electronic disco version from the project which is haunting and mysterious with this dance arrangement – it is a Hebrew folk song and means “Let Us Rejoice”. The disco-fication of the song is a nice touch from Valli and proves his ability to create dreamy and strong bass-tracks for the dance floor.

I have taken the 1971 film “Fiddler On The Roof” and blended dance sequences and some of the drama from the story of a Jewish family living in the town of Anatevka in Tsarist Russia in 1905.

Noel is an artists introduced with an LP titled "Dancing Is Dangerous" - produced by Ron Mael and Russel Mael of the brothers band, Sparks. This session was truly influenced by their own LP "#1 In Heaven" - produced by Giorgio Moroder.

"Au Revoir" is a track from the segued album and is one of my favorite cuts from the album - even though it runs at 3:10. I have always played the song using 2 pieces of vinyl to extend for either a dreamy early morning set or lounge sets.

I have ReStructured the short LP version and chopped the song into parts and also created loops and breaks to extend this nice piece of jazz-like dreaminess.

The premise of the original mix was a flowing 3 part sequencer feel which gave Maxine a chance to admit her weakness: "men".

"Take A Chance" is a single released in 1982 and along with writer/musician/producer Tony Carrasco (Klein and MBO) make this upbeat and fun tag-along track allot of fun to move and celebrate to.

Madleen Kane is one of disco music's sexiest artists ever! Her first LP "Rough Diamond" has a stamp of the sultry sound of disco without compromising on rhythm and pulsating charm. Her fourth LP was more than a welcome sight in 1981 - it was a production by disco extraordinaire, Giorgio Moroder that also created a new vehicle for Moroder's mature production for the 80s.

"You Can" was the first release from the project and one of the more level tracks expected from both Moroder and Kane's sensual appeal. It is a smooth and elegant love song that is as fitting as "Rough Diamond".

I have ReStructured the LP version including the lovely keyboard intro - pitching it to the song's blasting sexy feeling. It is intended to give the song a new splash of disco perfume and another opportunity to give Madleen a chance to prove her quote from 1979, "People fall in love in discotheques. Lixstening to disco music!"

Zulema Cusseaux began with a trio called Five Crystals and then later worked with Van McCoy with Faith, Hope and Charity. She also became a studio group titled Zalmac in the early 80s.

Her 1978 LP "Z-licious" is the brand of 70s funk, soul and disco rolled into a nice package. "Change" is the single from the LP which gained a nice repetation for being the solo-sound of Zulema - a roaring track with question of judgement and damnation - neither of which I foster or believe in. But it is a great song and the fictitious theme makes great fun for a dance floor motion.

I have ReStructured the 12" single and added a few new curves and turns to make the song new and a bit more exciting.

Rozalin Woods is a disco artist who released one album during the height of the disco era and then was never heard from again in the music industry. The album was "Flashback" and it was produced by Ed Martinez (Papa John Creach, N.E. Philly Band).

The album had three singles: "Flashback", "Go Shake Yourself" and "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" (written by Russ Ballard) - each with the full-potential and sound of the disco period. Rozalin's always reminded me of a sweet-Candi Staton-like feel.

I have taken the 12" version of "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" along with the instrumental and created a new arrangement with several new breakdowns. The song has a very strong emotion feeling to it and has always been one of the likable songs of the hardcore female disco diva followers.

Destination is Danny Lugo, Kathleen Bradley and Lovechyle Theus – and Mr. Elton Farokh Ahi producing arranging and playing several instruments on this session. It is one of the most incredible disco arrangements of the 70s.

I have taken the “Departure – My #1 Request” segment which include “Put It Where You Want It” and “Fantasy From Mortisha to Gomez Adams” pieces and blended the suite with the 1991 black comedy “The Adams Family” starring Anjelica Houston, Raul Julia and Christina Ricci. The movie version of the television show which ran from 1964 – 1966 is a hilarious affair.

I have paired up a few surprises to keep the Destination track alive and give it a whole new meaning!

Capricorn are Italian disco producers Claudio Simonetti and Giancarlo Meo – who also brought us projects by Easy Going, Kasso, Vivian Vee and Walter Martino. Their influence on Italo-disco music in the early 80s was an important faucet for disco music history.

“Capricorn” is a single released in 1980 – a funky track disco track about a space traveler from the constellation of Capricorn who travels through the galaxy in search of a woman to bring back to his planet – where there are no other women.

I have taken a film from the same year, “Saturn 3” starring Farrah Fawcett, Kirk Douglas and Harvey Keitel a story similar to “Alien” where a cyborg runs amok and threatens the safety of Farrah. It was looked at as a cheesy sci-fi flick but works quite well with this disco over—haul.

I have taken the 12" long version of "On The Run" from the album and have given it a touch of ReStructure Mix to keep this little masterpiece alive. It is a fast moving track - with a great vocal. The piano track can remind you a bit of an old silent movie with the villain approaching close by.

It gives Pee-Wee a whole new spin on the disco version and also an opportunity to see this uproarious movie once again.

Booker T. is a musician, songwriter and arranger from Memphis Tennessee - he is also the founding member of Stax' band Booker T. & The MG's from the early 60s. His production in the early 80s were a memorable contribution to dance music. "Don't Stop Your Love" is from his LP "I Want You" and a huge soul/disco classic from the period.

I have taken the original 12" remix dance mix and given it a ReStructure treatment for a whole new arrangement - also extending the rhythm guitar movement along with the mesmerizing vocal - which many have initially mistaken for Issac Hayes.

Pattie Brooks is one of the veteran disco images and influences in dance music history. Her big move with Casablanca Records was backing vocals for artists like Donna Summer - her lead to the fr stage was welcome site in 1977 with The Simon Orchestra.

Pattie's big #1 disco hit "After Dark" is still considered one of the finest disco records ever. Her 1979 LP "Party Girl" was produced by Bunny Sigler (with a single titled "Got Tu Go Disco" produced by Jurgen Koppers). The album arrived at the demise of disco record sales - but fans still made the project a big asset to Pattie's recording career.

"My Heart Belongs To You" I have taken from the LP and given it a new ReStructure Mix to bring out the haunting melody and Sigler's fabulous production. A slight techno edge in an attempt to create a new rhythm sound.

Quartz is Dider Plus, Laurent Taieb and Patrick Langlade – a French band and self-titled from 1978 remains one of the innovative new-age disco sounds to date. The project utilizes synthesizers and bass moogs in variation of disco themes which invoke mystery. “”Beyond The Clouds” is a classic among disco connoisseurs and even today has a unique rhythm quality and arrangement.

I have taken the title track “Quartz” – which sounds like it could be past or futuristic and paired it with the 1984 adventure film, “Conan The Destroyer” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Grace Jones and Olivia d’Abo. The warrior fends his way through obstacles to rescue the Princess Jehnna and our disco chants help lead the way.

Danny Lugo and Destination are a powerhouse group with a classic disco album produced by Elton Farokh Ahi (Fire and Ice, Stereo Fun, Inc.) - a disco moment in time with this LP "From Beginning To End" and a marker for label Butterfly Records.

"Move On Up" was a high energy disco cover of Curtis Mayfield's soul classic and done with all of the right moves and grooves. A follow-up for the group took three years and it was released on San Francisco label C&M Records (label of the late Craig Morley and Larry Cory - a San Diego DJ).

"Going Through The Motions" was written by Gerald Lee and Marti Sharron (sadly passed in 2007) who also wrote "Music Is My Way Of Life" for Patti LaBelle and "Jump" for The Pointer Sisters. It is a great track that sounds as if it may have been a track from a Michael Jackson project from the early 80s.

I have ReStructured the original 12" version with the instrumental to create a whole new mix experience and also mark the song as pone of the great dance songs of the 80s.

Rufas and Chaka Khan recorded their first LP "Rufusized" in 1974 with a fusion of soul and funk and also a road for a whole new sound. The music quickly became the aura of pop-soul music during the mid-70s. "Rufus featuring Chaka Khan" was released the following year and managed the two hits, "Sweet Thing" and "Dance Wit Me".

I have taken the 3:57 LP version of "Dance Wit Me" and managed to hold onto the funky-drum track and re edited and arranged the song to give it not only an extended version but a new groove. It is one of the killer funk tracks I can remember being driven by at a young age and now feel dedicated enough to pass it on.

Zell Black is a vocalist from the mid 70s who had a minor radio hit with a track titled "I Been Had By The Devil" on Motown Records. A year later Zell recorded again with Bob Gaudio as producer with a single "Fly Me" on Mike Curb Records.

Zell also joined the disco band Persia in 1979 and gave her vocal-ese edge to the classic, "Inch By Inch" on Casablanca Records.

The single is a rare funk-soul piece and has some of the grooviest drums and guitar pieces - and along with Zell and her unique vocal style the song is fantastic. I have ReStructured the 45 version from 2:53 to a 9:30 - adding lots of effects and capturing those cool riffs.

Love and Kisses is a studio ensemble created and produced by disco pioneer Alec R. Costandinos (who also wrote Cerrone’s “Love In ‘C’ Minor” ). The LP “How Much, How Much, I Love You” was one of the big Euro-disco statements of 1978 – the vocals on this recording were provided by Alec, Joanne, Stephanie, Sue and Sunny.

“Beauty and The Beast” is from the album and is one of the magical symphonic pieces of disco history. From the earlier “Romeo and Juliet” and the first Love and Kisses album – this one ranks right alongside Costandinos' classics.

I have taken the 1991 Walt Disney now-classic “Beauty and The Beast” and mixed the two – even though a much of the chorus sings about the tale and the Disney cartoon focuses on Belle, the spell and the The Beast. It is a short walk using both mediums to create a disco-movement with the wonderful animation.

Giorgio Moroder and Chris Bennett were the late 70s duo who brought magic together on the Munich Machine LP "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" in 1978 - giving Chris another opportunity for her lovely vocals within the electronic notes of Moroder's compositions. Chris Bennett had recorded a single in 1976 titled "Disco Man" which was also produced by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Belotte.

"Let This Night Go On For Days" is from the LP "Love's In You, Love's In Me" and closes the project with Moroder's haunting sequencers and keyboards. It is the sound which brought on the innovation of disco throughout the late 70s.

This ReStructure Mix brings the song a lengthier version as well as a few new effects and choruses with Chris' wonderful sound.

Denise McCann is an vocalist who hit the disco scene with a a track called "Tattoo Man" which was originally intended as rock/pop - but after a disco over-haul became a big club hit in 1977. The next year gained her a contract with Butterfly Records - at the time one of the most promising disco labels of the late seventies.

Her 1979 LP "I Have A Destiny" was one containing more of Denise's unique vocal style. The project was produced by Guy Sobell and have several tracks that were dance floor worthy. The title track I have ReStructured, since it has always been one of my Denise McCann favorites.

It is the glitzy and glam edge of the disco era and has many riffs which make it fun to listen and dance to. i have added a few pieces to give it a new feel.

Liza Minelli plays a disco diva very well – regardless of the fabulous Pet Shop Boys production. From the 1989 project “Results” were a few big dance floor hits and innovative-diva stances. Her cover of “Love Pains” is still matched as much as a classic as “Losing My Mind” – high energy again in transformation in the late 80s. Very exciting!

“Don’t Drop Bombs” is the story of a lover who just cannot be true and although there is a leak of information, a motive is in store – which is what this diva re-assures herself. Fantastic track.

I have paired the big dance track to the 1983 film, “War Games” starring Matthew Broderick, Ally Sheedy and John Wood. The story centers on a young computer geek (not looking) who finds a back door into a military central computer system and is under the impression he is playing a digital game – that may lead to World War III. The drama fits well with the explosions and tie-line of course but in synching some of the actual human drama to me, it fits as well.

Trilogy is Paolo Micioni - a DJ and producer from Rome, Italy. His work in the early 80s can be heard in releases by Easy Going, Gary Low, Traks, Thanya, Gazebo, Blue Night and various remix projects. His style of Italo-disco helped in the early 80s to create a mood which reshaped dance floors and stand up clubs around the world.

"Not Love" is a release under the name Trilogy and is one piece of entrancing dance music - a blend of 80s modern electronics and 60s rock vocals buried below the pulses and sequencers. It is a favorite of mine and I am sure many hardcore dance addicts and jocks.

One memory that always haunts my mind is 6 AM at The Probe (in Hollywood, CA), 1986 - DJ Lance Wise is spinning his extended remix of Patti's "Oh, People" and a crowded dance flow is swaying to the mesmerizing song and some holding and embracing each other in love. This is the meaning of the dance floor when disco music is playing - not just partying and fun - but love and unity.

Secret Weapon is 'The' Roy Skip Snider, Djuana "DJ" Thomas, Jerome Prister, Kevin Walker, Michele Blackmon, Rickey Paige and Russell Thomas - New York funk/disco group produced during the shifting of disco music in the early 80s. The self titled LP fulfilled the single "Must Be The Music" and brought the lighter-side of rap and funk to a head.

This ReStructure Mix of "Must Be The Music" accentuates the groove and the hit hat to the extreme using a few samples from Pointer Sisters and Kraftwerk to make the mix complete.

"Dead On The Case" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Disconnection

Disconnection is Robert Lee Holmes Jr. - producer of the late jazz.funk artist Freddie Waters. Holmes worked to create a jazz/disco/funk project on Prelude Records in 1977 which became one of the most obscure projects for this top disco label. The track "Dead On The Case" was a short cut (3:27) from the LP which gained some attention but was much too short to use - it was also featured on a Rare Preludes Volume 6 in 1993.

I have ReStructured the fabulous instrumental using e thumping break as an intro and break for this remix - it outlines the wonderful jazz and free style feel of the piece. It has always been one that reminded me of a sort-of "Shaft"-es-que flavor and here is extended to make this magic episode work.

5000 Volts is Kevin Wells, Linda Kelly (later replaced by Tina Charles), Martin Cohen, Martin Jay and Mike Nelson. Their self-titled LP from 1976 is one of the big disco memories of the disco era which points to one of the highest "disco-fevers" with "Doctor Kiss-Kiss", The single is one of several from the project which make this album a classic.

I have taken the LP version which times out at 3:10 and ReStructured the song to give it not only a longer play time, but also a sleaze factor which it is so worthy of. A great vocal, incredible guitars, keyboards and backing vocals make this track as infectious as Saturday night itself.

Isaac Hayes Movement is Charles "Skip" Pitts, Gary Jones, Isaac Hayes, Lester Snell, Michael Toles, Mickey Gregory, Ronald Hudson, Sidney Kirk, Tommy Williams and Willie Hall. The ensemble began recording in the late 60s creating a path for soul music to reshape dance floors in the early 70s.

"Disco Connection" was the second project released in 1975 and featured the titled cut as the single that innovative DJs would create the disco environment with the energy and excitement of growing scene. It was one of the earliest tracks that caught my attention during the early years of club-going.

I have ReStructured the track giving it a new intro and some breakdowns that take advantage of the "cat-like" slaps - incorporating a sample from the film "Car Wash". It is one of the tracks that is reminiscent of Hayes genius track, "Shaft.

“J'ai Deux Amours (Two Loves Have I)” by Phylicia Allen – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

Phylicia Allen creates a disco-fied tribute to the great, Josephine Baker, an American singer-dancer who is noted for her wonderful contributions to the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Allen works with disco producers Jacques Morali and Henry Belolo (Village People, The Ritchie Family) and gives two medleys outlining the climb and success of Ms. Baker.

Disco music of the late 70s began to work as themes for great films, events and times in history which gives it a lasting luster with its full band and sometimes orchestrated productions. This project is a wonderful example of that genre.

I have taken the 1991 television film “The Josephine Baker Story” and used several of the fabulous sequences starring Lynn Whitfield – who gives a command performance as Josephine Baker.

Amii Stewart (Amy Nicole Stewart) is one of disco's most regarded diva's since her big hit "Knock On Wood" struck dance floors in 1978. Her career has spanned a series of dance floor hits as well as work with some great composers including Ennio Morricone, Naratha Michael Walden, Giorgio Moroder and Bolland and Bolland.

Her 1984 LP "Try Love" is a lighter edge of disco/pop produced by the late Italian artist and producer, Mike Francis (passed in 2009). The single "Friends" is in Francis' wonderful 80s keyboard sound with a touch of adult contemporary flare. It is a sweet song that brings the lover out in two friends who find that more comes from caring and sharing.

I have ReStructured the song any have pulled more of a groove out of the mellow 12" mix - giving a new intro with some bumpin' beats pushing the beautiful keyboards outward.

Sunshine are Donna Summer's sisters. Dara Bernard and Mary Bernard - they began as back-up for Donna during her few projects prior to the release of the "Thank God It's Friday" soundtrack. The project was produced by Arthur G. Wright (Paul Jabara, Rare Gems Odyssey and also from the soundtrack "Leatherman's Theme" from Wright Brother Flying Machine).

The track is one of the memorable tracks not only the way it plays out "The Zoo" disco from the film - but also it's funk production and disco strings. The Bernard Sisters do a great job at giving a performance which is laid back, but also encompasses the energy of disco of late 70s.

Rick James changed the face of soul/funk and disco music during his rein from 1978 throughout the 80s. His productions enhanced the hardcore edge of a sound which began in the early 70s with experimental artists like George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. A hard hitting emphasis of rhythm guitars and rock-edged yet soulful vocals played a big part in the outline.

His initial album with The Stone City Band was titled "Come Get It!" and contained the hits, "Mary Jane" and "You and I" - the track "You and I" made a big debut in discotheques during a time when Euro-disco and pop-dance was on top - it was quite an impact!

I have ReStructured "You and I" and have given it a face-lift for the bottom line groove and the clever and sometimes naughty lines. It is a deeper mix which emphasizes the 70s era in its creative state and a current remodel for remembrance of a great dance era.

Blacksmoke's "(Your Love Has Got Me) Screamin'" is from their 1976 self-titled LP - the track was released as a 45 rpm single and also featured on a Casablanca dance EP compilation - in it's 3 minute version. It took 2 copies for me to extend it them/ This over-8 minute ReStructure Mix remedies that problem and pumps up the intro and breaks with some massive percussion.

Liquid Gold is headed by vocalist Ellie Hope and produced by Adrian Baker (an artist in the early 70s). The bands first success came in 1979 with their smash disco hit "My Baby's Baby". The song solidified the sound of Liquid Gold and each following release reflected this winning formula. The same year their following release, "Dance Yourself Dizzy" created the same excitement.

"Substitute" is their 1980 release which also features the excitement of the swirling strings - funky guitars and Ellie's fantastic vocal. I have ReStructured the track and re-arranged and re-edited the funky-ass guitars into a new experience.

The Fifth Dimension began recording in 1967 and is better known for their worldwide 60's hit "Up-Up And Away". The group was formed by Billy David Jr.and featured his wife Marilyn McCoo - they went on to recording a disco classic in 1978. The group had a mild success with their 1978 LP "Star Dancing" which featured the single "You Are The Reason (I Feel Like Dancing)" - which was also featured in the film "Thank God It's Friday" but not included in the soundtrack.

I have taken the 2:48 LP and extended it to a little over 9 minutes adding some new intro - breaks and a col ending. It is a soulful disco track which brings to mind the uplifting feel that disco music has given the world - a celebration that should never end.

Jimmy 'Bo" Horne's 1978 album "Dance Across The Floor" brought The Miami Disco Sound to a new high. The production by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch of K.C. and The Sunshine Band gave a new expression of their funky/soul/disco style.

"Gimme Some" is another track from the LP which also shared success in clubs as one of the uplifting disco tracks which also combined the sound which made K.C.'s hits like "Get Down Tonight" and "That's The Way" a sure win for dance floors.

I have ReStructured "Gimme Some" and devoted the mix to not only extending the track, but giving pieces of it a front on the stage. It is one of the catchiest riffs and also the "feel-good" sound of disco music.

Sylvester's fifth solo album is "Sell My Soul" - produced by Harvey Fuqua. The project contained several wonderful dance tracks: "I Need You", "I'll Dance To That", "Doin' It For The Real Thing" and a cover of the classic song "Fever".

I have taken the LP version of Sylvester's gospel-edged synth version and weaved a completely new arrangement and direction for the recording. It is one of my favorites of Sylvester's and one of the hard-hitting vocal tracks from this diva!

THP began in 1976 with their first LP "Early Riser" - produced by Willi Morrison and Ian Guenther. Their disco influence was based on a full orchestration of the Euro-disco sound with a funky band edge. It was big during their second release titled, "Two Hot For Love". The LP "Tender Is The Night" hit the discotheques during a period where a transition of the music was motivational.

"Music Is All You Need" is from the third LP (even though it is titled THP #2) and is one of the wall of disco sound from the group and also features vocals from Phyllis and Helen Duncan (Duncan Sisters) - it is a phenomenal statement and also a rousing piece of dance music. I have ReStructured the song using most of the parts which left a mark in my mind. It is segmented in edits and parts to create a whole new version.

Vivian Vee (Viviana Andreattini) is a disco star discovered by disco producers Claudio Simonetti and Giancarlo Meo (Easy Going, Capricorn) in the late 70s. Her first single "Give Me A Break" was a huge disco hit internationally and in the states. It was the resurgence of uplifting and "feel-good" disco music and began a whole new period of disco music which would soon become high energy.

I have taken the 12" version of this monster club hot and ReStructured it to pieces and glued it back in a re-edit that is sure to give a new feel for your ears, but maintain the power of the original.
