Midnight Powers was a big surprise for 1981 - a high energy disco track in the tradition of great Philly sounding strings and 80's percussion tracks. The song became quite a sensation following it's release on a compilation titled, "Prime Cuts 1" on Importe 12 Records.
The original label Overseas Records from Japan lists the producer as Mark G. Hill - and the domestic release as Masaharu Yoshioka. It is quite strange that the instrumental track became the most played and popular verses the vocal track which sound something like a Tavares vocal. Either way, the track is still an underground classic.
I have ReStructured the instrumental version and gave it a new intro and complete arrangement moving the mix towards the downbeat sections of the invigorating party track.
Hello Glenn,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all the fantastic music you share with us. Your restructurations take these classics to another level that I am sure most of us are enjoying now.
Thanks and have a great day...
