REISSUE: “Windsurfing” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Lazer Lazer is an Italian-disco project from producer/arranger Celso Valli – who also brought us Passengers, Tantra, Azoto, Lama, Nuggets and Elite. “Windsurfing” is a track that follows closely as his Azoto project with the whispery vocals and sweeping electronic arrangements on a high energy curve. It was one of the early high energy tracks of 1982 and helped to keep the energy of disco music alive during the time period. The theme is one that follows the whimsical frolic of Italo-disco in a fun and simple layout. I have taken the 12” version of “Windsurfing” and recreated a ReStructure Mix to pay homage to this wonderful arranger and producer. The original elements including the percussion and bass lines are extended into new breaks and eventually a new breakdown.
