ReStructure Mix Update (6/10/22): “Castro Boy” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Danny Boy and The Serious Party Gods

Danny Boy and The Serious Party Gods are John Hedges, Lester Temple and Barry Beam. One of the delicious camp records of the early 80s as there were so few in dance music at this extreme. Taking the grossly-silliness of Moon Zappa’s “Valley Girl” and flipping it on the hardcore San Francisco Castro scene. This one takes the ridiculous nature of Moon Zappa’s strange song and converts it into some kind of sense. The music is a nightmarish take of Frank Zappa’s play and works like an early morning “stand and pose” piece.

I have taken the 12” vocal, and dubs to recreate a new “Castro Boy” for this ReStructure Mix. I have added the bass guitar line from “Valley Girl” and a classic old school beat track to really take things somewhere else.
