ReStructure Mix Update (4/30/19) “Burning Up” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Madonna

ReStructure Mix Update (4/30/19) “Burning Up” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Madonna

Madonna released her first album in 1983 following two 12” releases a year earlier. One of the singles released prior to her self-titled project was a pumping synth-pop track titled “Burning Up” written by Madonna and labeled “Fast Side” on the vinyl. Produced by Reggie Lucas – who also co-produced songs by Phyllis Hyman (“You Know How To Love Me”) and Stephanie Mills (“Put Your Body In It”). He was also the second talent in a duo called Mtume. “Burning Up” is one of the electronic dance pieces of the time which had a big impact on the return to high energy dance with the synth-pop edge. The song is a great opportunity for Madonna to give a hard-edged rock delivery with her unique touch of sweetness that turns to fire in a flash. The success of the single along with “Physical Attraction” brought an anxious to dance floors and disc-jockeys everywhere.

I have taken the 12” version of “Burning Up” along with a rare instrumental to re-weave Madonna’s classic into a hardcore ReStructure Mix. There is more of a teasing intro and sustained looping to make this pumping energy give its load again. I can remember using two 12” singles to remix this one over and over when it was released so an extended and revised version has always been the direction for me.

Simon Soussan who brought up the first Shalamar project "Uptown Festival", Arpeggio, Romance and French Kiss gives his sir-name as the front to this disco studio project, The Simon Orchestra. It features some outstanding vocalists including Jessica Williams, Alex Brown and Lamarr Stevens - who sings "Don't Give Up" from the album.

I have taken the song - which is a favorite of mine and reintroduced the track with a new intro and a few edits and loops to give it a new version. It is one of those Soussan productions that gives a disco symphony-like layered feel. One of the great projects from the end of the disco era of the late 70s.

REISSUE: "Gonna Get Over You" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - France Joli

France Joli burst upon the music scene during disco's dynamic period and her big hit "Come To Me" remains one of the most memorable of dance floors around the world. Her 1981 single "Gonna Get Over You" is from her LP "Now" - the single produced by Raymond Reid and William Anderson (of Crown Heights Affair) - with strings and horn arranged by Giulliano Salerni (Strange Affair, Hi-Gloss, Bonnie Boyer, Tangerue) and a 12" remix by Francois Kevorkian.

This ReStructure Mix focuses on bringing a more classic early morning feel and removing a few of the horn elements and adding a few sampled breaks to accentuate "the pain" in this diva's heart. It is a quite a beautiful track and an honor to remix.

Dedicated to Ms. France Joli for her fabulous touch in the world of lovely music!

REISSUE: "You Really Touched My Heart" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Amii Stewart

Amii Stewart is one of the visions that make the disco era exciting and as memorable as a the mirror ball itself. Her cover of "Knock On Wood" made dance floors jump with excitement. The project was produced by Barry Leng (Stephanie De Sykes, Simon May) who brought a tough-disco sound to life at a time when needed most.

"You Really Touched My Heart" is one of the tracks from this project I always loved and most of all the LP version. I have taken the album version and ReStructured it to save the fierce keyboard pieces intact and only extend them for a dub-like vocal version.

Dedicated to Lindsay and Nicholas for their support and great energy!

REISSUE: "Don't Turn Your Back On Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Eloise Whitaker

REISSUE: "Don't Turn Your Back On Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Eloise Whitaker

Eloise Whitaker is an artist produced by Laurin Rinder and W. Michael Lewis in the early 80s - featured on the new dance label Destiny Records along with Butterfly exec A.J. Cervantes.

"Don't Turn Your Back On Love" is one of the powerhouse dance tracks on the time with the energy and soulful feeling of a diva-anthem! This ReStructure Mix gives the vital parts of the original 12" single a play once again - in high gear!

Dedicated to Lindsay and Nicholas! Go get it!

REISSUE: "I'm Not In Love / Girl, You're In Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Scherrie Payne

REISSUE: "I'm Not In Love / Girl, You're In Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Scherrie Payne

Scherrie Payne (sister of Freda Payne) became a member of The Supremes in 1973 - 1977 - a powerhouse diva. Her solo career also took shape in the late 70s, 80s and presently with many high energy productions with disco master, Rick Gianatos.

Her 1982 single "Girl, You're In Love/I'm Not In Love" is a fabulous cover of 10cc's classic ballad - done with a touch of diva. This production from Rick Gianatos is a mild-disco rendition during the early 80s and makes the magic of disco live all over again.

I have restructured the US 12" single using both the vocal and dub to recreate a new feeling for Scherrie's wonderful approach to this song. It was always a favorite and now it remains one that I loved bringing alive again.

Dedicated to Lindsay and Nicholas for their support and great energy!

ReStructure Mix Update (4/29/19) “Magic” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Five Sinners

ReStructure Mix Update (4/29/19) “Magic” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Five Sinners

Italo-disco was a guiding force in dance music during the early 80’s. Many of the producers and artists worked at stripping away the large production ensemble and create a raw and simple sound based on the bass synthesizers and keyboard elements. It was a return to the early formula of disco music during its formulation in the early and mid-70’s. Five Sinners is a project from Giuliano Saglia and Silvio Trisolino from 1982 – and along with writer and arranger Celso Valli created a dance hall classic. During the late 70s when disco was rejected by major labels in the US many of the big hardcore dance tracks were becoming more of Italian, German and small label releases. “Magic” is one of the deep sounding tracks that resonate this period. It may have been influenced by groups like Change – yet the influence created its own sound.

I have taken the 12” version of “Magic” and created a dreamier version using parts of two big 70’s pop-hits in this ReStructure Mix. There are a few DJ mix elements used to bring back that early morning feeling of being lost in the song and also some phasing and rearranging.

REISSUE:“Fire" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Ohio Players

REISSUE:“Fire" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Ohio Players

Funk was the thang in 1974 when Ohio Players released their raging hit, "Fire" - following the success of their hit "Skin Tight" this track took over the ideal of dance of the time.

It was the scorching horns and sexuality on the tracks which brought about dance steps and the need to dance. This created a wonderful opportunity for both funk and disco to become a very strong force.

The ReStructure once again is a safe mix that created for a compilation, yet it still holds true to my style and essence for making a classic track come alive again.

Dedicated once again to Loulou from The Netherlands in thanks for all she does to set the disco music world on "fire"! Thank you, Loulou.

REISSUE: "Funky Monkey" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Mandrill

REISSUE: "Funky Monkey" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Mandrill

Madrill is Bundie Cenac, Carlos Wilson, Charles Padro, Claude "Coffee" Cave, Fudgie Kae, Louis Wilson, Neftali Santiago, Omar Mesa and Ric Wilson - a Latin-influenced funk/disco band.

"Funky Monkey" is from their 1977 LP "We Are One" produced by Jeff Lane - it is the funkiest disco track of that year and one of my further excursions into the realm of disco-fied grooves. It is old-school at it's finest.

I have taken the 12" single and have given it a new ReStructure Mix with a new intro and some disco-pulsed breaks along with a sample that is appropriate!

REISSUE: “Outa-Space" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Billy Preston

REISSUE: “Outa-Space" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Billy Preston

Billy Preston (William Everett Preston) is a soul musician who had a successful career - Grammy Award-winner and collaborated with such artists as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Nat King Cole, Sly Stone. Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.

His 1972 hit instrumental "Outa-Space" is a soul dance classic and is one of the funkiest pieces of guitar and keyboard numbers from the period. Surely influencing many musicians and artists in the years ahead.

I have taken this soul classic and given it a ReStructure Mix with a new edit adding a new mix-in drum arrangement with a whole new feel to emphasize take off to "outa-space' - and of course the Starship E. to guide you through this trip!

REISSUE: "Erucu" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Jermaine Jackson

REISSUE: "Erucu" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine Jackson began his solo career away from The Jackson 5 in 1972 - since his guitar talents were on his side it was not long till this lead him to a solo instrumental hit. The soundtrack to Motown's production of "Mahogany" starring Diana Ross in 1975 was his opportunity.

The compilation included his close to 3 minute instrumental track "Erucu" which is used in a segment of the film where "success" becomes a bit overwhelming for our heroine. The track also made it's way into many clubs thanks to it's funky rhythm guitars and ominous percussion tracks. It was sheer Billy Preston dance heaven.

I have ReStructured the track by my own means of creating a longer mix with an easy mix-in and mix-out point and looping some of the memorable rhythm segments. I have also added a few voice samples from the film to give it more personality.

REISSUE: "She Wants To (Get On Down)" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bill Withers

REISSUE: "She Wants To (Get On Down)" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bill Withers

Bill Withers (William Harrison Withers Jr.) was a mechanic for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation but after demos and his 1971 single "Ain't No Sunshine" he became a major soul artist. His 1977 album "Menagerie" contained his classic "Lovely Day" (later covered by C.C. Music Factory) and also a song featured in the film, "Looking For Mr. Goodbar".

"She Wants To (Get On Down)" has always been one of my favorite pre-disco boom tracks. It has the funky essence of the Stevie Wonder keyboard feel and a bumping bass track. It builds over and over with vocals riding on top of the groovy rhythm.

I have taken the 3:15 album track and ReStructured it into over 8 minutes adding a new intro and some breaks along the way - as well as some looping.

ReStructure Mix Update (4/28/19) “Dance And Leave It All Behind You” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sumeria

Sumeria is a disco project from disco producer, Alec R. Costandinos. This project reflects his earlier work with Love and Kisses and Sphinx. A fully orchestrated production and pieces of a disco journey of a woman who following a torrid break from a bad relationship meets a mysterious stranger who we learn is from another galaxy. They fall in love and it seems as the time comes to return and his own and leaving his new love brings heartache and “golden tears”. Costandinos makes this disco symphony every moment worth the dance and storyline that he creates beautifully. One of the great moments in disco history is these Euro-disco productions that enabled many dance floors to transform into a stage for feet and imagination.

I have taken segments of “Dance And Leave It All Behind You” along with pieces of tracks from this tale and transformed them into a new ReStructure Mix. The bassline has been amended to give this new version a slow fade in and out. More of the powerful chorus is worked and the orchestrations are built as they were intended to outline our journey.

REISSUE:  “Disco Fantasy Medley” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Thomas “Coke” Escovedo

Thomas “Coke” Escovedo is a performer who painted disco, soul, funk and Latin experiences. His influence was passed onto his niece, Ms. Sheila E. and her dedication to keep percussion alive and where it belongs – dance music. “Disco Fantasy” is the 1977 project from Escovedo and hits the disco bell with a hard mallet. A production with soul and funk fused loosely as an underground disco sound was being formed. This one always reminded me of the Van McCoy style with a touch more of Latin percussion in this musician’s style. A big disco sound with the funky underground flavor.

I have taken tracks from this project and worked them into a medley – “Disco Fantasy Medley”. Lots of the funky-ass chorus ladies are what make this one feel real. A new intro brings the curtains to a rise into the great feel of the mid-70s and a time when dance floors and those private dance floors were creating a new nightlife for those who wanted something new.

REISSUE: "In My Fantasy (I Want You, I Need You)" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester

REISSUE:  "In My Fantasy (I Want You, I Need You)" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sylvester

Sylvester is one of disco’s most celebrated artists and talents where during the momentum of this genre he continued to deliver a style which built upon itself. His fourth album “Living Proof” is a landmark concert recording of Sylvester and his incredible back system Two Tons ‘O Fun – Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes in all their glory. Two additional tracks included in this two-vinyl set are “Can’t Stop Dancing” and “"In My Fantasy (I Want You, I Need You)". Both are the disco flash that was the full delivery that was needed at the time. "In My Fantasy (I Want You, I Need You)" is the return to a disco concept of a simple hook and breaks that create a dance pattern of hooks and fantastic vocal performance. A great sensual disco feel that marks the period.

I have taken the album version of "In My Fantasy (I Want You, I Need You)" and recreated ReStructure Mix pay homage to the disco genre with a few familiar riffs. This time around it is laid out with more looping and original components to complete a playful picture. I have used most of the great pieces outlined in the 12” mix from John Hedges and Marty Blechman – the men who helped to make fantasies on the dance floor come true.

REISSUE: “Fantasy” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Hotline

REISSUE:  “Fantasy” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Hotline

Hotline is a project from Bobby Orlando who took the underground feel of disco music back to the basics of rhythm with his heavy percussion and beats emulated in a street fashion. A new sound which would soon become the high energy music of the 80s. “Fantasy” from 1982 is a spoof of Orlando’s own production “Passion” from his studio group The Flirts from the same year. The instrumental plays out identically with a few changes in EQ and lyrics. This one is for the dancers who discovered the underground feel of Orlando’s early sound irresistible.

I have taken the Italian Import 12” version of “Fantasy” and created a new ReStructure Mix with a new chopping job to reconstruct this version into a mystical experience. A sample from Clint Eastwood’s “Play Misty For Me” helps to give it that erotic sound.

REISSUE: "Flight To Fantasy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Linda G. Thompson

REISSUE: "Flight To Fantasy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Linda G. Thompson

Linda G. Thompson is a German vocalist who is better known for her vocals with Silver Convention and The Hornettes (with Lucy Neale). Her single from 1975 "Ooh What A Night" is another single that echoes the sound of the funky/disco Silver Convention feel.

"Flight To Fantasy" is a single from 1980 produced by Uve Schikora that is an electronic dance piece which reflects the changing of disco music during the period. It is a hard edged rock-feel with a dreamy sound and vocal. Lots of moog synthesizers pounding out the sensual mood of this record.

I have taken the 12" inch version and recreated a ReStructure Mix that lends to many moments of the song that have always relayed the message clear. There are many loops and edits to extend the 5 minute original mix.

REISSUE: "Fantasy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bruni Pagan

REISSUE: "Fantasy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bruni Pagan

Bruni Pagan was an artist/vocalist when after hearing her voice you would wonder why we never heard more from her. She sang in a chorus for Herbie Mann and also disco artist, Venus Dodson and finally a break recording her solo project titled, “Just Bruni” in 1979 which was produced by Al Harrison and Janet Rosenblatt.

“Fantasy” was the first release from the LP and created quite a response for Bruni. Although she never recorded a follow-up project she did record another dance single with Dave Valentin titled “Loquita (Crazy Lady)” which had her signature vocal style.

This ReStructure is intended to break the song down into further parts with more breaks and beats. It is also great to hear Bruni working it, again!

ReStructure Mix Update (4/27/19) “Celebration” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Kool and The Gang

Kool and The Gang took the dance floor in 1970 when they released their first album. Their dedication to soul music and the eventual transformation of it into many genres and style throughout the 70’s, 80’s and even today. ”Celebration” is their big 1980 hit which made an impact from its release and is now an old school classic. Co-produced by Eumir Deodato and displays his signature keyboard riffs and play. The song has made dance floors feel the excitement that is an ingredient here and in many of Kool and The Gangs soulful club records.

I have taken the album version – both vocal and instrumental to recreate the peak of the “Celebration” in this ReStructure Mix. It moves into a whole new realm of execution and is most definitely a play of the songs content.

REISSUE: "Stuff Like That" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Quincy Jones

Quincy Jones is a living legend in the music industry. His productions and arrangement have made many artists shine like gold. His 1978 LP "Sounds...And Stuff Like That!!" is a project with pieces of funk, soul and jazz accentuated by Jones' magic touch.

I have taken the single "Stiff Like That" from the album version and have given it a new twist with a ReStructure Mix - it bears a few more breaks and some new kick-beats to jump start the hot track.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Ed DeNaro - thanks for the request and it is always fun to party with at GoBang! See you soon!

REISSUE: "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Donna Summer

Donna Summer took her incredible talent into the 80s with legendary producer, Quincy Jones with her 1982 LP "Donna Summer" featuring a new approach to her diverse range and style.

"Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)" was the first single from the album and changed the shape of dance floors as well as a new pop/jazz and funk approach to dance music. It was quite a "smoker" and an exciting time for Summer fans everywhere.

I have taken the 12" remix by Bruce Swedien and Craig Kostich and used both the vocal and instrumental (featuring a sax solo by Ernie Watts) and reunited the classic pieces into a new ReStructure Mix. It is truly a new sound and edit for the song.

Dedicated to my late "best friend" Roy (Angelo) Orozco - he was one of the die-hard Donna fans who made her magic come alive where he went. And thank you Donna for the Las Vegas show and making Roy feel special.

REISSUE: "Body Heat” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rufus and Chaka Khan

REISSUE: "Body Heat” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Rufus and Chaka Khan

Rufus is a band from Chicago who also brought vocalist Chaka Khan to the front of the stage along with the sound which gave her the “Queen of Funk” edge. Their music in 1979 took the direction of super-producer Quincy Jones – and their project “Masterjam” reminded dancers that the beat and funk plays on. “Body Heat” is a dance track from the album which stood out for me since it has not only the Quincy Jones touch but it also gives Chaka a disco-funk playground to deliver what she does best. This wonderful track has the wind-up that ignites the disco flame from a nice groove with a sensual aura. Horns and bass roll out like a magic carpet.

I have taken the album version of “Body Heat” and recreated a ReStructure Mix with a phasing to boom into using the rolling bass chorus piece. The intro is a more of a high energy focus while the funk essence remains intact with more separation on verses and added bongos and percussion.

REISSUE: "Wanna Be Startin'" Something - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Michael Jackson

REISSUE: "Wanna Be Startin'" Something - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson’s legacy is indeed one of the most powerful and unique. From his childhood recordings with The Jackson Five to his solo career in the early 70s onto the millennium where it appeared to be history in the bag. “Thriller” from 1982 is one of the most known albums in the world thanks to hits like “Billie Jean”, “Beat It”, “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing”) and the title cut – “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” is the peak of the dance floor in the 80s – Quincy and Michael style.

I have taken the 12” single – both the vocal and instrumental to create this alternative ReStructure Mix where I have added a few new elements and laid out that wonderful rhythm and keyboard play. It is an amazing track! In dissecting it for this remix I could find myself in allure once again over the sharp production.

REISSUE: "Do You Love Me?" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Patti Austin Patti Austin created quite a stir along with the production of Quincy Jones in 1981 with the LP, “Every Home Should Have One”. The first dance single to breakout onto the clubs was, “Do You Love Me?” This track was my favorite dance song during this time. With Patti’s incredible vocal and along with Quincy’s outstanding musical genius, this song was an anthem long before they were considered. It is beautifully recorded dance track. I have revived the music with more looping and repeat of those incredible rhythm guitars (Eric Gale and Steve Lukather) and soft keyboards (Greg Phillinganes – husband to Penny Ford – who is Sharon Redd’s sister). This track smoked from day one and even today sound ominous and just as powerful. The 80’s may have produced a great track that can even today be as fantastic! Dedicated to Rick Ashmun for continuing to bring the 80's dance music scene into view.

ReStructure Mix Update (4/26/19) “Don’t Make Me Wait” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – N.Y.C. Peech Boys

N.Y.C. Peech Boys are an experimental electronic dance project from 1982 whose moves were influenced by the aura of an underground club called Paradise Garage. Along with Larry Levan this early sound began a phase of electronic house and funk using a brand of soulful chorus leading to a new vocal sound. This sound became the brand for the Paradise Garage sound in the early 80’s and eventually lead into a style called house. “Don’t Make Me Wait” is a mysteriously ominous track that begins teasingly and then leads to a crescendo of soulful male harmonies. It is one of the pieces which made the disco label West End Records the tribute record company of the dance era. It seemed that the excitement this one created was welcomed from the fallout of disco music in the late 70’s.

I have taken the vocal and the dub of the 12” of “Don’t Make Me Wait” and worked this ReStructure Mix into a whole new form. Where many of the beats are void throughout the original arrangement there is now a constant rhythm to pulse the orgasmic track. This one is a tribute to the Paradise Garage and Mr. Larry Levan.

The 1978 track by La Bionda is a sweepingly beautiful track - "Sandstorm".

The production for the LP titled "La Bionda" is a wicked one - engineered and mixed by Harry Thumann ("Underwater") and features some wonderful percussion and Middle Eastern strings.

I have placed the 1999 film, "The Mummy" starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz below the pulsing beats of "Sandstorm" - although there is not much a sandstorm occurring, the actions follows well with the energy of this Disco Video Mix.

McCoo and Davis have been entertaining audience throughout the late 60's as members of the group The 5th Dimension ("Up, Up and Away") - it was in the 70's that their solo endeavors caught wind of the disco dance floors.

"Shine On Silver Moon" was released a disco 12" single - produced by Steve Cropper and Billy Davis Jr. - the remix was executed by John Luongo along with Jimmy Maelen on added percussion.

This is a romantic session with lots of emotion and heart - one of the great classics of disco touch dancing. My partner, Ken asked if I could take the 1987 film "Moonstruck" with Cher and Nicholas Cage and create a disco video mix. It is here with all of the excitement, energy and love.

The masterpiece by Alec R. Costandinos is blended with the 1956 film version of "Notre Dame de Paris" - the beautiful and lush strings and funky disco bass outline the story with drama and emotion.

The film stars Gina Lollobrigida, Anthony Quinn and Jean Danet - it was directed by Jean Delannoy.

Costandino's whose work in the disco arena is well respected and often referred to - his concept LPs were most popular on dance floors as well as audiophiles turntable to study the arrangements and beauty of his orchestrated disco sound.

Donna Summer’s “Sunset People” is one of those disco tracks that makes you feel as though something is happening – it caused quite a stir on dance floors. This classic mover is in the tradition of Giorgio Moroder’s progressive keyboard and sequencer sound of the 70’s. After hearing this track – it is no wonder that he is the “Godfather Of Electronic Disco”.

Placing Gloria Swanson along with this dynamite track was an idea I got when a good friend, Charles mentioned that “Sunset Boulevard” would be great to use in a Video Mix. So Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard unite once again in this edit.

REISSUE: "Move Over Darling" by Linda Taylor - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

High-energy music continued in the 80's with the help of innovation and uplifting concepts - the genius of taking a theme from the 60's romp, "Move Over Darling" originally performed by Doris Day and creating a disco sensation is one of the best.

Linda Taylor was one of the top session singers from the UK - recording with bands Gonzalez, The Art of Noise, and Shakatak. Her singles collection includes a dance floor hit, "You And Me Just Started" from 1982.

Her disco cover of "Move Over Darling" produced by Martyn Norris and Richard Cottle in a small gem - it captures the playful feel that the original intended.

I have taken the 1963 film, "Move Over Darling" and placed the images over the wonderful dance version to bring the light hearted comedy and the spirit of fun into a Disco Video Mix. The films stars Doris Day and James Garner and was directed by Michael Gordon.

This Disco Video Mix is dedicated to a fun-loving energy in my life, Dale Switzer.

Euro-disco was born in 1976 when "Love In 'C' Minor" was composed by Alec R. Costandinos and Cerrone.

This masterpiece has all of disco music's most authentic pieces rolled into one movement. Funky bass lines, string emsembles and a sexy chorus featuring Joanne Williams, Stephanie De Skyes,Madeline Bell, Jackie Sullivan and Jean Hawker.

This is a ReStructure to pull the pieces apart and place them in a new order - a new percussion riff floats below the perfection in the original.

Alec R. Costandinos assembled the disco symphony and created a moment in disco history that will outline the sound that will never be recreated in all of time again. It was a period where the sounds of horns and strings serenaded dancers flowing along with the new founded funk and soul elements of orchestration.

Love and Kisses is an ensemble that Costandinos made a familiar edge on dance floors along with his pieces which included a disco treatment for "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in the late 70's. His first project by Love and Kisses was "I Found Love (Now That I've Found You)" which made discotheques demand a follow up. The LP "How Much, How Much I Love You" was a similar formula that gave a new excitement to the 70's string sections and bass hungry dance floors.

This ReStructure Mix introduces the beautiful movement of music in a new way with a few new breakdowns and builds.

Dedicated to the master - Mr. Alec R. Costandinos.

REISSUE:  “People Say It’s In The Air” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Herrey’s

Herrey’s are a trio of three brothers: Louis, Per and Richard Herrey who were a pop recording group during the mid-80s throughout the mid-90s. “People Say It’s In The Air” is a single released in 1985 and produced by Anders Engberg and caught the attention of the dance clubs and music enthusiasts whom were taken by anthem songs. This one was a big mover for hardcore dance clubs which takes on a new meaning with big tracks which reach more than the feet as this one does. It is a beautiful and melodic love song with a chorus of hope and celebration. The Herrey’s are one of the parts of this anthem category for this number and many who danced all night to songs like “Hang On To My Love” by Jimmy Ruffin and “No Regrets” by Quartzlock know this mood well.

I have taken the 12” ‘Red, White and Blue Remix’ – vocal and instrumental and reworked a ReStructure Mix which adds more to the celebration with a longer intro and a fading chorus. I have added a far off percussion riff to give this one a haunting edge and keep the mystery of this genre of dance music rare and energetic.

REISSUE: “Symphony Of Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown

REISSUE: “Symphony Of Love" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Miquel Brown

Miquel Brown released her first disco project in 1978 with "Symphony Of Love" - the production was handled by Alan Hackshaw (Love De Luxe) who used many of the musicians from the Love and Kisses, Voyage and Cerrone recordings.

This LP did quite well during its time and "Symphony Of Love" is one of the track that is most memorable. Miquel went on in the early 80's to record with disco producer extraordinaire, Ian Levine and brought us classics like "So Many Men, So Little Time" and "Close To Perfection".

I have ReStructured "Symphony Of Love" with some new drums tracks and taking advantage of the lovely vocals, bass and lead guitars.

REISSUE: “Let's Get Started" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Voyage

REISSUE: “Let's Get Started" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Voyage

"One Step Higher" was the finale project for disco band Voyage in 1982 - their standing on both dance floors and with music connoisseurs was a lasting five year with the excitement of each project. Classics like "Souvenirs", "From East To West" and "I Love You Dancer" are few tracks that are now stamped in disco history.

"Let's Get Started" reverts to the bands lyrical and uplifting chorus feel - it is a great direction and close for the bands creative and musical talents.

I have taken "Let's Get Started" into a ReStructure Mix to extended and add a few pieces to weave a new sound for this anthem. It was requested by Rick and Dean from Australia - two wonderful gentlemen and I dedicate it to both lovingly.
