ReStructure Mix Update (10/31/20) “Touch Me Baby” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – O’Hara

O’Hara is Leslie O'Hara – a disco performer produced by Charles Algarra, Youssif Achir Chemouny and Humbert Petrucci. The single “Touch Me Baby” is from 1984 and one of the underground gems of the mid-80’a. A synthetic feel with sensuality is explored over and over here with O’Hara’s moaning and avid purring. It is an early morning dream. The production is a light electronic pulsation of disco grooves and light funkiness. This one almost fits into the aura of classic club records like “Magnifique” with more of the syrup of disco to make it a touch campy and sexy.

I have taken the 12” of “Touch Me Baby:” and recreated the aura into a more flowing ReStructure Mix. A borrowed drum track from Elton Ahi is placed to bring it down further into a beat driven climax.

REISSUE: "Fear" by Easy Going - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "Fear" by Easy Going - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera "Fear" was an Italian production with an innovative feel for dance floors during its release. The robotic feel along with the vocoder generated lead vocals create an electro feel and hypnotic transition. I have taken the LP version and a 1973 horror film, "Torso" -- directed by Sergio Martino and created a new meaning to the song. The film "Torso" was a Carlo Ponti production and was added to the slasher film list of the 70's. More eroticism was added to utilize the cast including Suzy Kendall ("To Sir, With Love" ) and many other Italian beauties (men and women) in this psychosexual thriller. It also contains one of the most squeamish moments of suspense at the end of the film which I used a climax for the video. The film was directed by Sergio Martino Featuring scenes from "Torso" - RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: “’H’ Friend” by Black Devil – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “’H’ Friend” by Black Devil – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera WARNING: Some graphic scenes or gore and violence! Black Devil is an electronic disco project that is a deep and moody recording created by Bernard Fevre and Jacky Giordano – where the recording was manually recorded using synths, tape loops and a drummer. No computers or midi equipment creating a unique haunting disco experience. A bit dark and for those who love the influence of alternative themes and Moroder-ish influences. “’H’-Friend” is a spooky sounding piece that I appropriately paired here with the 1987 horror-thriller from Dario Argento, “Opera” – a terrifying and graphic tale of a young operetta whom is stalked by a deranged fan who is killing all of her close friends so that he may claim her for himself. It is genre of Argento’s colorful and violent style and so much along the lines of the ghostly sound of this disco track. The film was directed by Dario Argento Featuring scenes from “Opera” – RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons This Disco Video Mix is dedicated to Jussi K. – the deepest darkest corner of disco is the funkiest, Jussi!

REISSUE: “Haunted Disco” by Chromium – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Haunted Disco” by Chromium – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Chromium is a disco project from producers Trevor Horn (ABC, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Malcolm McLaren, Grace Jones) and Geoff Downes (Asia, Thompson Twins) and released their album “Star To Star” in 1979. The big club “Fly On UFO” was a hit and remains the finale destination for disco arrangements of the time. I have taken the song “Haunted Disco” from the album and paired it with the 2012 comedy/fantasy film “Dark Shadows” and stars Johnny Depp as the resurrected vampire, Barnabas Collins. This odd return to the 70s play with a few elements which are fitting for the ghoulish-disco mood. The film was directed by Tim Burton Featuring scenes from “Dark Shadows” – RENT THE DVD! REISSUE:“Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” by D.C. LaRue – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE:“Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” by D.C. LaRue – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera D.C. Larue released his fourth album “Forces Of The Night” in 1979- produced, arranged and conducted by Mr. Bob Esty. A disco treat with the full “force” of disco music during its peak. “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” is the love anthem from this project and is also one of the moments for D.C. to comfort us with an assuring vocal during any uncertainty. It is one of my favorite songs of the time and also a moment to release that soaring spirit of love. I have taken a strange twist on the song and blended it with the 1982 film, “Poltergeist” – starring Craig T. Nelson and JoBeth Williams. It is one of the most haunting horror films and delightfully edged with producer Steven Spielberg’s humorous touch. The disco flight moves well with the emotional and ghostly scenes. The film was directed by Tobe Hooper (of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” fame) Featuring scenes from “Poltergeist” – RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE:“R.O.E.” by Scarecrow – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE:“R.O.E.” by Scarecrow – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera New Beat dance music was generated in Belgium and became apart of the late 80’s dance genre. Many producers with electronic knowledge and wizardry began creating dance music with a darker and ambient feel. Scarecrow was a project produced by Talla 2XLC who had his hands in many New Beat projects including many remixes. His masterful sound was an industrial werk with ominous and underground sound. I have taken the terrifying 1979 film, “The Amityville Horror” with James Brolin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger to create a small treat for Halloween 2008. The dark side of Disco Video Mix with a left-field track. "R.O.E." was released in 1989 and was the B-side to Scarecrow's "Black Door" Featuring scenes from “The Amityville Horror” – RENT THE DVD! ReStructure Mix Update (10/29/20) “Pretty Woman” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Scott Allan

Scott Alan is a singer who is best known for his 1979 single “I Think We’re Alone Now/Will You Love Me Tomorrow” on T.K. Records – a fantastic medley of the 1967 song by Tommy James and The Shondells along with The Shirelles’ “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”. His second recording took a similar route with a cover once again of Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman” – produced by Bobby DeSantis and released in 1982 on Disconet Volume 5 – Program 2. A great outline for a disco version since the guitar riffs carry a heavy rhythm and Scott takes on Orbison with success. Another big number for this artist and a reminder of the hidden unreleased singles that Sugarscoop would lay out for the hungry jocks.

I have taken the Disconet version of Scott Allan’s “Pretty Woman” – which was mixed and mastered by Mike Arato and placed it along with pieces of the original with a blend of old and new for the care of this nice dance piece.

REISSUE: “Fire Night Dance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Jacques Band

REISSUE: “Fire Night Dance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Peter Jacques Band A first for dance floors in this dosage. "Fire Night Dance" was released in 1978 to dance floors waiting for a new kind of energy. Mauro Malavasi under the supervision of producer, Jacques Fred Petrus worked keyboards and percussion like a brand new style of music. This may have been the first real high energy music a few years before the 80's. Flowing arrangements and soulful vocals weave together to complete a wonderful effect. I have taken the original production and realigned the feel of the song with, believe it or not - more energy!

REISSUE: "All Night Long" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – B.B. and Band

REISSUE: "All Night Long" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – B.B. and Band B.B. and Band is an Italo-disco project from Mario Boncaldo and Tony Carrasco who also gave us Klein and M.B.O. during the same time frame. Electronic music was converging onto a new sound during the early 80s following the demise of the full studio production of disco music. The keyboards and sequencers were the main force in Italo-disco along with the cheerful chorus ensembles keeping the light and uplifting feel of dance music. “All Night Long” is from the 1982 album “Wee Thee People” which helped to formulate a touch of funk into the Italo-disco formula. The slick production incorporating the Latin castanet breaks and magnificent piano elements this piece plays out elegantly. A big favorite of mine always and another number which made the shift into Italo-disco very welcome. I have taken the Italian 12” vocal and instrumental version along with some new beat and percussion elements to create new party for “All Night Long”. This ReStructure Mix stays true to the original version which drops in and out of heavy chorus breaks and light piano serenades. It is one of those early evening songs that make the night promising and infectious.

REISSUE: "Party" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Julius Brown

REISSUE: "Party" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Julius Brown High energy in the 80's came alive with flair with tracks like "Party" by Julius Brown - a soulful vocal exuding with excitement relating to the dance floor. This electrifying song was one of the finale productions by Jacques Morali (Village People, The Ritchie Family) before his passing in 1991. Julius Brown delivers a dynamite vocal that shakes up the bass synthesizers from their pulsating placement - it is quite the disco track. I have ReStructured "Party" and added new drums and some stop-and-go moments to give you just a small break before catching the disco energy all over again!

REISSUE: “Dance Party” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Blue Lazer

REISSUE: “Dance Party” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Blue Lazer Blue Lazer is an electronic dance project from Canada – featuring Tony Bentivegna (of Nightlife Unlimited) and Giovanni D’Orazio. The mid-80s welcomed the light and focused arena of dancing again and justifiably so when many still worked for that night on the dance floor. “Dance Party” is a single from Blue Lazer released in 1984 with the uplifting feel of disco music as it left us. This one pours the elements of bass synthesizers playing out the pounding disco beat as the boys direct the attention to the whole purpose the night is here. It was one of the big dance floor movers for me and continues to remind me of the shift into high energy music as dance music became more underground once again. I have taken the 12” version of “Dance Party” and extended the rolling synthesizers into a pumping ReStructure Mix. The play with a new intro is for that intense moment where the night is at its peak. A salute to the Canadian disco scene which saved the disco era with its dedication and talent.

REISSUE: "World Wide Party" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Max Berlin

REISSUE: "World Wide Party" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Max Berlin Max Berlin's "World Wide Party" is one of the disco trax from 1979 which played out like a dance floor anthem. Giving plenty of of the drawn out disco mix which dancers clamored for. Accentuating the disco beat with drums, percussion and synths - driving feet from one side of the dance floor to the other. Jean Pierre Cerrone is noted to be brother of Jean Marc Cerrone ("Supernature", "Love in 'C' Minor", etc.) and also is known for his first project titled, "Disco Dream". I have taken the US LP release on Emergency Records - using both sides of the medley's - chopping and trimming down some of the groovin' segments with some new breaks and arrangement. This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Deejay Chris of Facebook - and thanks for his request and part in keeping disco music here for life's party!

REISSUE: “The Man From Colours” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Wanexa

REISSUE: “The Man From Colours” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Wanexa Wanexa is an Italo-disco project from Franco Rago, Gigi Farina and Xenia Monneret – the trio who brought us Expansives (“Life With You”), ‘Lectric Workers (“Robot Is Systematic”, “The Garden”) and Message From The Future. This style of dance music began with the control of electronics being used in creative and artistic manner. It was a free range of sounds where street beats blended with the thumping of the disco outline. “The Man From Colours” was released in 1982 and was a moody piece with a haunting vocal by Lyana Galis. One of my weapons for an early morning set or tea dance. I have taken the original 12” vocal and instrumental of “The Man From Colours” to build a new ReStructure Mix outlining more of the beat pulses and foundation of these innovative Italian productions. I have only used a piece of the vocals in one segment. They are haunting and work best when delivered in part. Homage to my love for Italo-disco and thanks for their delivery of a new style for the dance floor in the early 80s.

REISSUE: "Take A Chance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bizzy & Co

REISSUE: "Take A Chance" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bizzy & Co Bizzy & Co is Fabrizio Gatto - an Italian producer who also gave us Italo-disco classics by Doctor's Cat, Martinelli, Cat Gang, Topo & Roby and Raggio Di Luna. His synthesizer sound in the early 80s is an excellent blend of high energy and a hypnotic dance sound. "Take A Chance" is a single released in 1982 and along with writer/musician/producer Tony Carrasco (Klein and MBO) make this upbeat and fun tag-along track allot of fun to move and celebrate to. I have ReStructured the Import 12" on DeeJay Records to give it a "spacious" mix and accentuate on some of the percussive drums and effects.

REISSUE: “Take A Chance” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mr. Flagio

REISSUE: “Take A Chance” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mr. Flagio Mr. Flagio is an Italo-disco project from “Fla”vio Vidulich and “Gio”rgio Bacco. This track from 1983 is one of the early Italian recordings which marked the success of this genre of dance music around the globe. The extensive use of the sequencer and keyboards are not a hint of disco music – but a statement. The productions of the early 80s became streamlining and more acceptable in the electronic form – since synth-pop had become the new arena for dance music. “Take A Chance” is a heavy piece in which a simple line: “Let’s break away, come take a chance with me…” is an obvious pick up line. Inserted between the vocoder chorus and dramatic backing vocals which are somewhat operatic is the electronic cowbell which many may recognize as a staple of Klein and MBO. Mr. Flagio released only two single and their focus is definitely the deep Italian disco edge along with the more pop-street edge in a light dosage. I have taken the 12” of “Take A Chance” – using both the vocal and instrumental to combine both for a new ReStructure Mix experience. This one plays out with more with the synthesizer loops and chorus build which made it one of the classics of Italo-disco that it is today.

REISSUE: "Feel The Drive" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Doctor's Cat

REISSUE: "Feel The Drive" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Doctor's Cat Doctor's Cat is Aldo Martinelli, Fabrizio Gatto and Simona Zanini - an Italian studio concept band with the sound of early 80s Italo-disco fever. It was 1983 when the music began to emerge as a solid formula which consisted of a full electronic sound with heavily paved percussion. Much of Italo-disco did not make much sense in a relative fashion - it was more about the energy and experimentation - much like the funk of the early and mid-70s took a play on themes and words. I have taken "Feel The Drive" from Doctor's Cat and played with it to create an alternate ReStructure Mix using the heavy synthesizers and percussion as a start for a new mix. Adding some new effects and beats to enhance this favorite of mine.

REISSUE: “Tequila" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bo Boss

REISSUE: “Tequila" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bo Boss

Bo Boss is Paolo Micioni, Massimiliano Di Carlo and Roberto Masala - a production trio who also brought us "Not Love" by Trilogy and "Freedom" by Thanya. This was an innovative electronic sound for the 80s and sounds family with many Italo-disco production during this dance period. "Tequila" is an electronic and robotic feel version of the 50s classic from The Champs. A fantastic version here with some distant chorus girls that make the song feel as though it were being funneled from another galaxy. A nice disco venture. I have taken the 12" single "vocal" and "dub" as well as pieces from the original classic to create a whole new dance experience that should make you feel as though you have had a shot or two! NEXT ReSTRUCTURE MIX: "Pretty Woman"

ReStructure Mix Update (10/28/20) “Jackie” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Blue Zone U.K.

ReStructure Mix Update (10/28/20) “Jackie” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Blue Zone U.K.

Blue Zone U.K. is ANDY Morris, Ian Devaney and Lisa Stansfield. A trio whom released “Big Thing” in 1988 – a project which contained the single “Jackie” which took clubs by storm not only because the vocal from Lisa Stansfield was irresistible – but also the production and song itself were a wall of energy and perfect for the time period. This one was a huge success immedietly following the 12” single release and made another promise that was short lived for a fabulous singer like Stansfield. Her big sound with a soulful edge always worked a number and with “Jackie” it was ominous. One of my favorites of the time and many others, I am sure.

I have taken the US 12” vocal and dub version to recreate another opportunity for “Jackie” in this ReStructure Mix. All of the percussion and drum effects are from the original recording so the sound is still intact with only a new arrangement.

REISSUE: “Everybody Needs Somebody Sometime” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ann Margret

REISSUE: “Everybody Needs Somebody Sometime” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ann Margret Ann Margret is an actress and singer who made a mark in cinema as the ‘sex kitten’. Disco was an open door for Ann since the aura of sexuality is one of the elements of its lure. Produced by Paul Sabu, who created a successful stage for Debbie Jacobs and his own band along with various studio works in dance music during the 80s. “Love Rush” was the first disco single to send waves throughout dance floors during its release and also made a tasty moment for a television showcase of dancing and teasing. I have taken the original 12” and second edition – using the 3 versions to recreate a disco moment for Ann’s perfect sensual early evening/morning number. I have always loved Sabu’s original feel and arrangement and worked to give admirers a new spotlight to use for rekindling an underground funk and disco piece. Mr. Paul Sabu is one of the men who used the sounds which made dance/disco music identifiable and now, classic. This ReStructure Mix and respect are dedicated to him. Thank you, Paul.

REISSUE: “Sugar Walls” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sheena Easton

REISSUE: “Sugar Walls” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Sheena Easton Sheena Easton became one of pop music’s surprises as she went from mild ballads to the off-set funk edge created by Prince. The sound which emulates a sort of twisted sound and almost fairy tale oriented in its vision. “Sugar Walls” is undoubtedly one of the pieces from her “A Private Heaven” album which created a stir of controversy from the oozing sensuality and suggestive lyrics. However, the Prince-funk edge brings it to an irresistible place. A big dance floor hit and one which uses Sheena in a whole new way as she uses this track as freedom for a new audience and era. I have taken the vocal and instrumental of “Sugar Walls” 12” single and reworked this ReStructure Mix with the fantasy of this imaginary place. More of the beats and clap tracks are accentuated for a deeper part of this funky piece of 80’s dance.

REISSUE: "Are You Lovin' Somebody" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Debra Dejean

REISSUE: "Are You Lovin' Somebody" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Debra Dejean In 1981 dance music was looking for a direction to head into. A new trend of nu-wave and dance oriented rock began to filter onto many dance floors evening out the trend of disco market making high energy nearly extinct in the US. Many artists like, Debra Dejean were continuing to release tracks that had similarity to high energy with a new edge. "Are You Lovin' Somebody" is a track with a rock edge and more early morning sleaze elements to make it well-known for dance floors using a lower BPM formula of the time. It was a time for more experimentation and return to disco's roots soon after. Produced by Bo Bohannon and Carl Marsh this track outlines more of a stand up cruise bar more than anything. It has always been a favorite of mine in the sleaze end of dance music. I have ReStructured this track with a friend of mine, Danny B. who has always loved this song and made it more of an option for remixing. We have been through the music carousel from the early 80's through the 90's and it was a great ride. This one is for you Danny - it is great to hear from you again!

REISSUE: "You Are In My System” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Robert Palmer

REISSUE: "You Are In My System” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Robert Palmer Robert Palmer is an artist and performer who delivered a unique brand of pop-rock to music history. Tracks like “Johnny and Mary” and “Addicted To Love” are the pieces that will always bring his masterful sound to mind and his movement throughout the end of his career till his death in 2003. “You Are In My System” is one of the surprises of Palmer’s career from 1983 – where the original by a band titled The System recorded it originally a year prior yet Palmer made it his own. This was a turn to electronic funk in the 80s for this talented man. His version of “You Are In My System” is haunting and one of the street kicking beat tracks of the period. A classic in his vocal career and also one of the most memorable times in dance music. I have taken the 12” version of “You Are In My System” and recreated a reprogrammed and edited ReStructure Mix which plays with the original concept. I have stripped down some of the effects which give the song its computerized vibe and added some new beat tracks to separate and give the new version a twist.

REISSUE: "Take All Of Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Barbara Law

REISSUE: "Take All Of Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Barbara Law Barbara Law is a artist who recorded a French track in 1963 titled "Aur Revior, Auf Wiederseh'n" - it was years and years later when she resurfaced during the disco era with a project project produced by Harry Hinde (of The Rae's success). The production included many familiar names including Cissy Houston, Yvonne Lewis, John Luongo, and Jimmy Maelen. "Take All Of Me" is the tiled track and the 12" single from the album - it is morning sleaze at it's best. Very sensual and enticing - one of my favorites forms of disco and so appropriate. I have ReStructured the 12" version - originally mixed by Michael Barbiero - and have given it a new electric intro and few re-editing pieces to give it a new feel.

REISSUE: "From East To West" by Voyage - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: "From East To West" by Voyage - Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera The 1977 LP "Voyage" by Voyage marks a place in disco history that is hard to forget. It is a time where Euro-disco painted strong images and feelings for a dance floor waiting to be taken away to a fantasy world. The title track "From East To West" is a classic and leaves the imagination feeling unlimited - as well as the dance floor ready for more. The project was produced by Roger Tokarz and features musicians Marc Chantereau, Pierre Alain Dahan and Slim Pezin as well as many backup ensembles from Cerrone and Munich disco recording sessions. I have taken the 1956 adventure film, "Around The World In 80 Days" based on the Jules Verne's novel and placed scenes and images in this Disco Video Mix. The scenic quality works quite well and leaves little wonder on how this song by Voyage has become a classic piece for disco lovers all over the world. The film was directed by Michael Anderson Featuring scenes from "Around The World In 80 Days" - RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

REISSUE: "I Love You Dancer" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Voyage

REISSUE: "I Love You Dancer" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Voyage Marc Chantereau, Pierre-Alain Dahan and Slim Pezin are Voyage - minus Sylvia Mason who performed on the first and second albums marking "Souvenirs" an International disco classic. The trio takes Voyage a step further on this 1980 venture. Following the lessor demand of Euro-disco during the late 70's black lash these boys took the band into a funky and nu-wave groove. The experiment brought the same uplifting sound that their compositions and musical genius was accustomed to. "I Love You Dancer" is a brighter star from this package - it is everything that Voyage brought in the first 2 LPs but more. I have taken the track and re-funked it up for a new time. My focus was leave the groove intact and add only a few more dance moves with it. This ReStructure is dedicated to Franklin Fuentes - thank you for the kind words, support and keeping this wonderful music alive!

REISSUE: “Orient Express” by Voyage – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Orient Express” by Voyage – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Voyage is a disco European disco band consisting of many musicians whom were involved in various disco projects during the late 70s as studio musicians. The production was under the direction of Roger Tokarz – who also worked with Voyage band member Pierre Alain Dahan with a project titled The Peppers. “Orient Express” is a track from the first album from Voyage and is an instrumental track featuring sitars and wind instruments to create the atmospheric feel of the orient and its mystery. I have taken the 1952 film “Road To Bali” starring Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour into this Disco Video Mix to complete the adventurous sound. The scenes featuring exotic dancers are the hit on the Maluku Islands. The film was directed by Hal Walker Featuring scenes from “Road To Bali” – RENT THE DVD! REISSUE: “Follow The Brightest Star” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Voyage

REISSUE: “Follow The Brightest Star” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Voyage Voyage is a band from France whose dance music shaped disco music for the finale of anthems. Their big hits “From East To West” and “Souvenirs” are perhaps the most uplifting and memorable dance floor classics of the late seventies. The finale album from Voyage in 1982 titled “One Step Higher” contained a wonderful closing to their odyssey of dance music celebrating our world – “Follow The Brightest Star”. This one plays out like a 70s Euro-disco track with a beautiful resonance. It defines their sound in its entirety with the beautiful lyrics, sweet chorus and uplifting rhythms. One of the most wonderful sounds for the end of the disco era. I have taken the 12” of “Follow The Brightest Star” and reworked another journey to a great place in this ReStructure Mix. The intro and chorus parts are dissected to give more of what this song brings alive. More of the song is better and a fade out with the chorus is the curtain call you may have been waiting for.

REISSUE: “Let’s Fly Away” by Voyage – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Let’s Fly Away” by Voyage – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Voyage is a one of disco’s most treasured bands. There is a connection between the uplifting sounds of the dance floor during the mid-70s during the Euro-disco period. A beautiful and lyrical chorus fulfilling our wanderlust around the globe celebrating life and diversity. “Let’s Fly Away” is from the second album titled “Fly Away” from 1978 - it is the second anthem from this adventure where “Souvenirs” begins our dance floor boarding for a trip from east to west. I have taken “Let’s Fly Away” and blended it with a very special film from my childhood – “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” from 1968. A British musical film based on a novel by Ian Fleming. The film stars Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howes. It plays out the obvious adventure to the sky where our disco chorus lures us into a high place of happiness and serenity. The film was directed by Ken Hughes Featuring scenes from “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” – RENT THE DVD! Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Produced by Ken Emmons

ReStructure Mix Update (10/22/20) “Infatuation” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Up Front

Up Front is An 80’s club ensemble featuring Winston Negron and Karen Diggs. Their electro sound brought a definition to 80’s dance music fused with soul and funk. “Infatuation” is their single from 1983 and is one of the New York Club records which took dance floors hostage the summer of its release. One of the pieces from the time period which reaches far beyond the existing grooves and may have been a spark that lit a need for a new definition of music. The vocals here are as New York Street as the early 80’s could deliver and work well over the lesson being told. It is truly one of the great stamps for the night life in theme and sound.

I have taken the 12” vocal and dub of “Infatuation: and recreated a new rippling sound for this ReStructure Mix. Adding some new drums and using the existing trip to take us a bit further.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Marialisa Maiman– thank you for your friendship!

REISSUE: "Get Up, Action" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Digital Emotion Digital Emotion is a Dutch group from Adams and Fleisner - who are G. Hessing, A. Mol, E. van Prehn, C. Bergman and E. Veerhoff. They are also known as Gazuzu, Tempo Rubato, Video Kids and X-Ray Connection. This is the early 80s answer to disco-continuance! Simple electronic dance music with a crazy overall feel. "Get Up, Action" is from their first self titled LP - although the single was released in 1983 on Break Records. Elements, like the looping guitar are similar to "Funky Town" and follow along the same type of fun and whimsical sound and themes. I have taken the original 12" version of "Get Up, Action" and have given it the ReStructure Mix treatment - adding a few breaks and also looping and creating some new pieces out of the electronic fun.

REISSUE: “Get Ready” by X-Ray Connection – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Get Ready” by X-Ray Connection – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera X-Ray Connection is two high energy producers from The Netherlands who created a wall of electronic sound in the mid-80s. Their track “Get Ready” is from their LP “X-Ray Connection”. Past productions included Gazuzu, Digital Emotion, Dr. Groove and Tempo Rubato. Their sound is very recognizable by the many “space” sound effects pulsing with the pumping bass lines. The 1987 “Star Wars” spoof from Mel Brooks is “Spaceballs” and stars Mel Brooks, John Candy, Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis. Lots of great gags and laughs are placed along with X-Ray Connection’s “Get Ready” – outlining the victory in outer space played with lots of laughs. REISSUE: “We Can Make It” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Evans & Fisher

REISSUE: “We Can Make It” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Evans & Fisher Danny Fisher and Tommy Evans brought the third generation of Italo-disco to dance floors in the mid-80s. Their electronic productions were as lush and swirling as the Euro-disco of the late 70’s and helped to preserve the disco edge. “:We Can Make It” is their 1988 release which is a breath of disco air, This number sweeps and sways like a fabulous Fred Astaire dance number on a disco high. It contains their signature heavy percussion foundation with the beautiful electronic strings and sweet vocal reminding us of the early days of European disco music. A beautiful piece that deserves to be honored as most of their productions, I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “We Can Make It” and reworked a ReStructure Mix to give another disco trance like moment alive. It adds a sample from the Larry Page Orchestra to add to those incredible drum-fills. This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Denni Demaldè – thank you for the request and being so kind.

REISSUE: “Go Go Gorilla” by Gazuzu – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera

REISSUE: “Go Go Gorilla” by Gazuzu – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera Gazuzu is a Dutch production team called "Cat Music" consisting out of G. Hessing, A. Mol, E. van Prehn, C. Bergman and E. Veerhoff. Their 80s disco project titled Gazuzu began in 1982 with the single “Drums On Fire” – it was then that a light hearted but heavy drum and synth-groove became their trademark sound. “Go Go Gorilla” was their second single from1983 which is a chant-like track of a zookeeper who finds his animals quite groovy at night. This was the inspiration for the 2001 comedy/fantasy film “Zookeeper” starring Kevin James as the Disco Video Mix. The film is similar as our zookeeper learns something from the zoo animals that hold more than his care in their hearts. REISSUE: "Mama Told Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Fantastique

REISSUE: "Mama Told Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Fantastique Fantastique is a disco project from The Netherlands - with Marian Pijnaker and Cor van der Hoogt - although vocals on "Mama Told Me" were performed by Astrid Leuwener and Dick Van Dam. The group had one album and various singles which were in the 80s high energy - electronic disco vein. I have taken the 12" of "Mama Told Me" and created a ReStructure Mix extended the fun-and-frolic of the song - and adding a few elements to give it a swing and "hoe-down" feel. It is great 80s disco in arena which made dance floors feel as though they were back in "Funky Town"!

ReStructure Mix Update (10/21/20) “Cannonball” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Supertramp

Supertramp is a rock band whose recording career began in 1970 and brought them to a crossover to 80’s club dance music with their “Brother Where You Bound”. The single “Cannonball” is a jazz-edged number that pulled off many new faucets for this band. It is a continuum of rhythms and a groove that takes the energy into a movement that for Supertramp is monumental. The song reveals a one sided relationship that is hit hard and strikes back with a rhythmic revenge. One of my favorites for the 80’s club scene and a memorable sound that makes Supertramp a new angle in dance history.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental and rewound the elements into a new ReStructure Mix. This time around many of the riffs are combined and reworked to give the free sound a new tag. There are more loop pieces to give this song a whole new face lift.
