GQ is a disco/funk band from The Bronx and members were Emanuel "Rahiem" LeBlanc, Herb Lane, Keith Crier, Paul Service and Steve Adorno. Their first hit track “Disco Nights (Rock-Freak)” from 1979 created a style and audience for their funk based disco sound. “Standing Ovation” is from their 1980 project, “GQ 2”. Another great dance number with heavy rhythm guitars guiding their slick arrangements. The sound was a fierce number which gave the dance floors another moment to groove again to GQ.
I have taken the 12” version of “Standing Ovation” and revamped the elements into a new ReStructure Mix. The funk edge is given a new rhythm section and more of the verses put into play.
