The 1968 science fiction epic, “2001: A Space Odyssey” was my first influence as a child in both film and music. After spotting the soundtrack LP and being fascinated by the cover it became my first album. Soon after seeing the film in Cinerama I was completely in awe of its imagery and mystery.

I have taken the 1976 disco track “The Blue Danube Hustle” by Rice and Beans Orchestra (a disco version of Johann Strauss the Younger’s 1867 composition, also used in “2001”) and transformed it into a montage for scenes from the film. Produced by Pepe Luis Soto (Celi Bee, Roxie) and Tato Rossi

“2001: A Space Odyssey” was known for a “trip” for most young movie goers of the time – I remember hearing stories of youngsters smoking grass and viewing the film for the special effects. It holds a great deal of ideas and technological concepts, which make the film one of the most incredible experiences. I honor both the film and the wonderful waltz piece, “The Blue Danube” for being a gift to us.

Vince Montana, Jr. was a ringmaster for this fantastic ensemble of musicians creating New York's Disco Signature Sound - in 1976 the LP "Nice 'N' Nasty" was released featuring the title track along with "Good For The Soul" and "Don't Beat Around The Bush" - this marking the compositions for soul, orchestra and rhythms to merge into a dance craze.

"Nice 'N' Nasty" was another track I over heard being played at "Back To Disco" in Los Angeles this past week and it had all of my imagination moving along for a ReStructure which I dedicate to Ricard Aguirre for his hard work.

Irvin Kershner’s suspense film, “Eye’s Of Laura Mars” hit theatres in 1978 – it was a very nice combination of mystery, suspense, drama and some great disco music. The soundtrack featured Michael Zager Band’s “Let’s All Chant”, Odyssey’s “Native New Yorker” and KC and The Sunshine Band’s “Shake Your Booty.”

Visions of the film are expressed in this Video Mix with a completely new edge. Boys Town Gang’s disco classic, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” from the 1981 project produced by Bill Motley and sung by Jackson Moore. This music was geared to bring back a high-energy disco sound, which was lacking on major labels following the disco fade of the early 80’s. This is a simple, yet effective result.

The bizarre nature of the theme of “Laura Mars” is put more delicately to Boys Town Gang’s dance floor track with a bit more of Faye Dunaway’s magic presence. It may seem a bit odd but if you think carefully about the story for those who have seen it and understand the meaning, know that it is along the same parallel.

Dedicated to Cynthia Manley and her wonderful talent, which she continues to share with so many with a great heart and attitude.

This double LP set was arranged by Gene Page and featured Melvin 'Wah Wah' Watson on guitars, Sonny Burke on piano and produced by Mr. Frankie Crocker.

It may sound as if you are listening to the soundtrack to an episode of “Charlie’s Angels” – this is early disco from 1976. A transitional period when the music of Cerrone’s “Love In ‘C’ Minor” was influencing American productions. Dance floors were demanding more orchestrations and arrangements.

Although not much is memorable here, but Crocker’s affiliation it is still a wonderful trip back to the days when disco music was being formulated and experimental.

In 1988, I had the privilege of meeting artist and performer, Sharon Redd – it was through her manager, Ruth Carson and I thank her so much to this day.

Sharon agreed to take a weekend and spend it with a few friends to work on a few amateur videos using a few of her great songs (“Beat The Street”, “We’re Friends Again” and “Love Insurance”). I was using a Betamax camera and the original editing was done of 2 VHS decks – wow! Now it has been remastered and re-edited.

This is the closing chapter of the now DVD project – it is following the shoot of “Love Insurance” at Presidio Park in San Diego.

Sharon is a beautiful soul – her passing in 1992 was sad. The fact that we have her music to mark her talent and life is wonderful. I still celebrate Ms. Redd as many do with her fantastic music. This footage shows how gracious she was and how “big” my 80’s hair was! (AND HOW TIGHT THOSE LEVIS WERE!!!)

Jean-Claude Friederich produced Madleen Kane's third project titled, "Sounds Of Love" - another great disco LP from the sexy and beautiful Swedish songstress. The track "Cherchez Pas" was the first single hit the clubs - it was like the rebirth of disco all over again. The blaring horns and the nice touch of "wiry" guitars created a wall of energy under Madleen's sultry vocals. I can recollect that many people would approach my booth asking if this were Deborah Harry singing the song.

"Cherchez Pas" in French means, "To Be Without" - I believe she is singing about how incomplete her life would be without that special someone next to her in the discotheque.

The track is being divided in this ReStructure to give it a more underground disco feel - with some exploding to accent the power of these breaks.

Dedicated to the guys at Multiply whose love for disco music is the best I have seen.
