Clips#23 - Disco Steps

Disco Express - Plastic Surprise.mp3
Produced by Canadian Producer, Peter DiMilo - this was the last breath of disco during the late 70's - very similar to the Nightlife Unlimited LP produced by George Cuccuzella - may have been an attempt to create a similar project.

Feel Your Way Around - Ann Joy.mp3
Great percussions fills! And Ann's sensual and yearning vocals. Strings have a familiar cheap Philly sound - the way that true disco music was intended to sound!

Follow Me (Wally McDonald Mix) - Amanda Lear.mp3
The song that takes you on a journey - a great classic! Have danced many mornings (probably around 4 AM) to this one. Amanda was given her trademark with this cut and it is obvious after a listen. Anthony Monn produced and created a thin layer of synthesizers and swirling strings that work like magic.

I Need You (Disco Version) - Mix Up featuring Claudia Hart.mp3
Canadian production, which has bass synthesizers and keyboard riffs that may have been influenced by "Funkytown"! Great song though with those disco/porn vocals - played this one over-and-over during its time. This was a real dance floor magnet.

Planet Of Love - Le Pamplemousse.mp3
Rinder & Lewis at their funky best. From their AVI label. This is full of instrumentation and great sleazy vocals.

Steppin' Out (Long Version) - Ray Dahrouge.mp3
Disco music anthem for its time. Produced by John Davis ("Love Magic", "Ain't That Enough For You") and is his sound at it's best. One of the earliest 12" mixes that utilized phasing. Great vocals by Dahrouge. Lyrics are as best as the nightlife gets.

You've Got Me Dancing In My Sleep - Frisky.mp3
After creating a hit with Saturday Night Band, Dillard and Boyce works to create that magic again. This is a great disco production. Sampled in early 90's house hit, "I Need You" by Nikki Warren. Great energy.
