• "I Am What I Am" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Village People
In 1977 Jacques Morali brought his concept to life - a chorus line of men dressed as stereo-types in the machismo world. Village People was born and has since been embedded in history.
Their second LP "Macho Man" from 1978 embraced the idea where a gay overtone was more than present. It was a period where disco music began to unify all stereotypes as fun and freedom. Quite an accomplishment for a genre of music.
"I Am What I Am" is a track that pulls the concept out and glorifies it as deep as it gets - I have always believed it myself. Victor Willis makes the message loud and clear as the boys (Randy Jones, David Hodo, Felipe Rose, Glenn Hughes and Alex Briley) make the shout out heard.
This ReStructure extends the original LP version and adds some new pounding beats into the arena. It is dedicated to Mr. Randy Jones - thank you for being who you are, Randy!

"A Fifth Of Beethoven" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Walter Murphy Band
• "A Fifth Of Beethoven" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Walter Murphy Band
In 1976, The Walter Murphy Band transformed Beethoven's Fifth Symphony into a pop-disco classic in a very creative outline. Moving the strings on board a funky keyboard foundation, Murphy created a lasting and classic feel for dance music and an innovative time.
This ReStructure was a thought in my mind to bring the well-known track back and extend it's sharp string sections over a new beat and arrangement. It will be trip back down to the dance floor that will have you feeling classical all over again.
Dedicated to Walter Murphy and his continued success with his "Family Guy" theme!

"Doin' The Best That I Can" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bettye LaVette
• "Doin' The Best That I Can" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bettye LaVette
Disco classics have a sound all of their own - it is obvious that Bettye LaVette's "Doin' The Best That I Can" is one that stands alone. Not only are the lyrics the most emotional and thought provoking - they are timeless. For anyone who has ever been hopelessly in love this one is a powerhouse!
A favorite of mine since it first echoed through a discotheque at the age of 16, this one holds allot for heart for me. Bettye LaVette has been recording since 1962 and her return for the disco era is an event.
Produced by Cory Robbins and Eric Matthew who were also responsible for bringing Sharon Redd alive in Front Page's "Love Insurance" in 1979. Matthew as well with his productions and band, Gary's Gang have always been praised for his excellence.
This ReStructure utilizes the original Mark Sameth 12" mix and works a new percussion track weaving it with a whole new arrangement - respect and long lasting honor for the Walter Gibbons remix also (which is not used here).
For Cory Robbins, Eric Matthew and Ms. LaVette - who have created a classic for all to hold close to heart.

"(Looking For Someone To Love) Tonight" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Technique
• "(Looking For Someone To Love) Tonight" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Technique
A salute to Michael J. Lewis - a very important disc jockey in the San Francisco area - responsible for bringing disco music back on top of the disc jockey forum in the early 80's. His production of Technique on Arial Records in 1983 was a burst of disco energy with the title track "Can We Try Again" - which was mistaken many time in clubs and the circuit as Abba.
"(Looking For Someone To Love) Tonight" is an early morning track with a pumping synthesizer giving life to a yearning piece of art. Written by Muff Murfin who also wrote "Life Is The Reason" by Norma Lewis. The song is a serenade of disco trance energy and would fulfill the heart of any fan dancer.
This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Michael Lewis who passed sadly for us all in 1988 - his energy and dedication is felt all over this one.
Thank you, Mike!

"Pop Musik" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - M
• "Pop Musik" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - M
At the end of the disco era there were many impressions left with this period of technology and dance being an area that seemed to effect everyone. Robin Scott under the name of M, took all of the trends and rolled it into one nu-wave/disco track - "Pop Musik".
It was ingenious!
This song leaves many with the memory of crossover from disco to a full electronic dance era. It is appropriate even today with technology moving very quickly and touching us all.
My ReStructure Mix adds some new flavor and a whole new emphasis on "Pop Muzik" - it was one of those tracks that pulled me into the realization of what disco music was becoming. A great time period.
Dedicated lovingly to my sister, Lolly - one of favorite songs and also one jam she would love to dance to. For you, Lolly - enjoy!

"(Everybody's) Dancing All Over The World" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Busta Jones
• "(Everybody's) Dancing All Over The World" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Busta Jones
This beautiful track is "discorama"! It justifies the beat in it's completeness and style.
Gino Soccio co-produced this project along with bass guitarist, Busta Jones who has played along with Talking Heads and Brian Eno. His fabulous work can be heard on the Bombers 2 project - no mistaking his masterful bass lines from "Everybody Get Dancing" and "Pistolero"! Killer work!
Soccio's magic is sprinkled all over the gem - it is a masterpiece.
My ReStructure is for Michael R. of San Diego - who I recall dancing to this at WCPC here in San Diego back in "the day" - it is one of favorite tracks..."In gay Paree...where the people are funky and chic!" Oh yes!

"Got You Where I Want You Babe" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Stereo Fun Inc.
• "Got You Where I Want You Babe" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Stereo Fun Inc.
Elton Farokh Ahi again pulls of a disco extravaganza with Stereo Fun Inc. - it is the closest to his Destination ("Move On Up") to perfection that time has captured.
"Got You Where I Want You Babe" is a magically flowing track with all of that which is disco: a pulsating percussion track, funky lead guitars, horns, swirling strings and a beautiful female lead vocal. This is where touch disco needs to be.
This track emerged in 1983 on Moby Dick Records in the US and saved dance floors by returning to the pure sound of disco/dance music. My ReStructure Mix is a tribute to Moby Dick Records and Bill Motley - the man behind Boystown Gang.
