"Keep Smilin'" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Carrie LucasCarrie Lucas began recording on her husband,the late Dick Griffey's label Soul Train Recording Co. in 1976 - there a big dance movement being formulated at this time to become the disco era.
"Keep Smilin'" is one of Carrie's big dance floor classics and is truly an anthem with all of the elements to stand the test of time. As Carrie sings about staying "hurt-free" there are pounding drums and sequencers keeping her heart from breaking - it is the 70's "It's My Party" track.
I have taken the track and given it a new dub feel with lots of looping and phasing to create that disco fantasy that so many of us were lost about in the 70's.
I dedicate this ReStrucure Mix to the late Mr. Dick Griffey - in thanks for all of the wonderful artists and music he has brought to disco/soul history.
