Elite
is an Italo-disco project from producer Tony Carrasco and is conducted
and arranged by Celso Valli. One of the great moments in club music
where the undercurrent of disco is accented with a unique blend of
vocals and an outstanding production. Hardcore in its execution, the
album titled “Premiere” contains four disco tracks that playout more as
an adult contemporary sound of dance music. One of the great Italian
disco pieces of 1980 when dance music in the US was manuerving towards
pop and funk. “Reach For Me (Can’t You See Lovin’ Me)” is a deep edged
and moody early morning energy track that contains a bit of sleaze. It
is one that I always moved towards in an afterhours program. One of my
favorites in this genre. Vocals are provided by Jon Pickett, Michelle
Wilson and David Vinson.
I
have taken the album version that is a Celso Valli masterpiece and
recreated a new ReStructure Mix to pay homage to this track. More
percussion is added and a play on the introduction is added as well as
more of that swirling and dreamy interlude that Valli works so well as
he did in “Hills Of Kat Mandu”.
