ReStructure Mix Update (8/24/17) "I Feel For You” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is a voice which powers the black funk culture. Her presences in many tracks are immediately a force that is memorable and a statement to the recording. Throughout the early 70s her work with a band titled Rufus always gave Chaka the front stage and her solo album “I’m Every Woman” in 1978 marked a pinnacle moment for fans and music history. “I Feel For You” comes from Chaka’s 1984 album and blends the 80s street beat with the pop-dance movement of the period. The song was written by Prince and featured originally on his second album and a cameo from Stevie Wonder on harmonica and a few rap ends from Grandmaster Melle Mel make this one a classic and another reason to honor Ms. Khan as one of the artists who add to the dance repertoire of time.

I have taken the 12” remix of “I Feel For You” and worked this ReStructure Mix giving it a longer moment for Chaka’s words of love and affection. A play with the beats and percussion outline more play on the track with a few loops to make her statement obvious and this remix more fun to remind us of the beat street period of dance music and its influence.
