ReStructure Mix Update (1/8/21) “Turn Me, Turn Me, Turn Me” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Mary Love
Mary Love is a soul and gospel singer who joined the disco sensation of 1979 with her single “Turn Me, Turn Me, Turn Me” – produced by Jay Kessler and Pardo Jones. Featured on the classic disco 12” label T.K. Records. The track has some wonderful riffs including the space-like chorus which Lu Janis (writer) used in many of his productions and also some nice percussion and horn segments. A simple love song on how love changed the world of a lonely girl forever and a great chorus to disco down to with a reverberating edge. The piece has always been one of my favorites from the T.K. catalogue and still holds up with the sound which brought it down on many club turntables.
I have taken the 12” version of “Turn Me, Turn Me, Turn Me” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix for a new take on the song. Using the original beats and bongo tracks as a new emphasis on the breakdown.
