Bananarama is Keren Woodward, Sarah Dallin and Siobhan Fahey – a trio from the 80’s dance scene whose lasting aura exists even today. The girl group with the 80’s appeal brought many dance floor hits in the mid and late 80’s. “Really Sayin’ Somethin’” is their 1982 release produced by Dave Jordan and Fun Boy Three (who also accompany the ladies on this single). This cover of The Velvelettes 1964 hit single is laid over a heavy tribal drum fare which makes this piece a nice piece of 80’s dance. The vocals are light and sweet and use each drum break as freshener.
I have taken the 12” version of “Really Sayin’ Somethin’” and placed the drums in new layering to begin this new ReStructure Mix. More of the verses are placed among this new arrangement and a minor use of the original for the fade.
