True Example is disco/soul ensemble released on Salsoul Records and features Cubby St. Charles on lead male vocals. Their 12” single released in 1977 is a double sided gem featuring “Love Is Finally Coming My Way” and the flip side, “As Long As You Love Me” - produced by Baker, Harris & Young Productions. These tracks are two of the singles which outline the soulful feeling behind disco music in a melodic exercise. “As Lone As You Love Me” is one of the sweet love songs put to Salsoul’s disco outline. Each part of the recording is memorable and stamped with the magic that brings disco music and soul together. An incredible piece which will always gain new fans as it moves forward with music history.
I have taken the 12” version of “As Long As You Love Me” and stripped down the percussion and acapella elements into a new ReStructure Mix. There are a few looping string parts to bring a dub-like feel to this new love anthem.
