ReStructure Mix Update (1/3/26): ”Living On My Own” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury released his solo album titled “Mr. Bad Guy” in 1985 and featured his anthem track “Living On My Own”. This hard striking dance number is an 80’s dance palace dream as it contains all of the energy and outline that a crowded dance floor would welcome. Freddie relays his loneliness and strength to keep his retreat for a good purpose rather than give up on life. It is one of the periods of Mercury’s career where he wanted to make people dance and celebrate and this track is accordingly sufficient. One of the 80s singles which would outline one of my power sets and still brings to mind the immediate response to this great song.
I have taken the 12” version of “Living On My Own” and reworked the anthem into a new ReStructure Mix. There are several new segments using the bass pieces in new edits and placement as well as a fade out to oblivion.
