“For Your Love” by Chilly – Disco Video Mix by Glenn RiveraChilly is a German band with a big disco hit from 1978 – “For Your Love” – a dance cover of The Yardbirds rock hit from 1966. I always felt the disco version gave the song the drama that it needed. Produced by Bernt Mohrle (Cherry Laine) and given a disco orchestra that lasts forever.
I have taken the mood for the song and have given it a darker edge on “love” and “obsession” – using scenes from the 1983 film, “Star 80” – starring Mariel Hemingway and Eric Roberts – based on the life and finale tragedy of Playboy centerfold actress Dorothy Stratten. This play focuses on the obsessed and eventual breaking of Eric Roberts’s character without going into gory detail.
Chilly’s “For You Love” is one of my top 20 disco track favorites – after thinking about the haunting keyboards in the song – I decided to use it in this eerie Disco Video Mix.
