ReStructure Mix Update (2/19/17) “Carry On” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Giorgio Moroder featuring Donna Summer
“Carry On” is a single from 1992 that unites Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder in an uplifting and haunting track that follows a melodic journey. It is a familiar sound that Moroder created in the early 80s with the feel of “Never Ending Story”. This one gives Donna another opportunity to echo her beautiful vocals into a dance song where they work so well. The release is one of the last of Donna’s true dream disco performances and although it is simple it stills pulls us into that fantasy world of the dance floor.

I have taken the original 12” on Virgin Records and weaved a melodic ReStructure Mix which is more of an afterhours feel. The theme is worked to the bone here using more of its ethereal sound rather that dance beats. More of Donna is added throughout this new journey as a dream sequence.
