ReStructure Mix Update (3/21/17) “Disco Jam” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Eddie Drennon

Eddie Drennon is a violinist and producer who released a dance album in 1978 titled “It Don’t Mean A Thing” co-produced by Joe Bana (of Friends and Co. Records). The project is one of the Casablanca Records releases which takes disco music along a new area and features Latin bandleader, Tito Puente on percussion. “Disco Jam” is one of the big tracks that use layers of percussion to move in string breaks and a disco ensemble pouting out the funk. It is a rare number for many unless one of your club stops had a disc jockey who delved deeper into the disco charts.

I have taken the album version of “Disco Jam” and reworked a ReStructure Mix which plays out as the original with a few new placement markers for the funky bass, guitars and the disco chant. It plays a bit longer and also uses a sample from the film “Car Wash” to give the mix an added touch.
