ReStructure Mix Update (5/17/19) “Live It Up” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Time Bandits

Time Bandits are a disco/funk and synth-pop band from The Netherlands who began their recording career in 1982. The band consists of Åke Danielson, Alides Hidding, Carl Buskohl and Dave van den Dries. Their music was immediately a hit on dance floors especially those who worked the hardcore dance palace tracks during the early 80’s. Their big single from 1981 titled “Live It Up” became one of the big sleepers of the period and many jocks that were spinning innovative dance playlists were on board. The eerie feel of this one which accelerates into an uplifting power chorus is a wonderful example of this bands achievement. I placed this one on peak hour playlists to crowded dance floors as a personal favorite and one which I could always be sure to stir the crowd.

I have taken the 12” version of “Live It Up” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix adding more of the percussion elements sprinkled around to bring new life. The intro plays out a bit more dramatic as the new climax does but all around the original feel is still intact.
