Laura Branigan is a singer who began her recording career in 1981 and worked many dance floor hits including, “Gloria”, “Solitaire” and “Self Control”. Her powerful and rock-edged vocals gave her music the power and emotion needed to relay some intense messages. “Sharpshooter” is a track released in 1984 on the motion picture soundtrack of the film, “Body Rock” – it was produced by Jack White and Robbie Buchanan. Another song where Laura’s brings to the surface an emotion which introduces the human connection with sensuality and ease. The track did not have a release as a single so the best part is that it is a gem for a fan.
I have taken the soundtrack version and the unreleased 12” mix of “Sharpshooter” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix to keep this Branigan track alive. The new intro uses the bass sequencers and drums to introduce Laura’s story and a few new breaks added to make the dance floor experience a bit more real.
