Alison Moyet is one of the talents from the 80’s whom moved synth-pop music into a new direction. Her work with Vince Clark and his group Yazoo added a depth to electronic dance music which brought a soul to the robotic sequencers and keyboards. Alison became a solo career in 1984 with her project titled “Alf” – containing the incredible single “Invisible”. This recording is one of the most powerful of female vocals from the 80’s as Alison pours so much emotion and pain it is identifiable immediately. The production by Tony Swain and Steve Jolley emphasis an adult contemporary feel to 80’s dance music that is classic. “Invisible” is now a classic and one of Alison’s most powerful recordings.
I have taken the 12” version of “Invisible” and realigned the emotions in a new way for tis ReStructure Mix. There are more new segments between the verses and the striking chorus with a fade out to remind us that sometimes the pain does not end easily.
