Boys Town Gang is a San Francisco based disco ensemble produced by Bill Motley in 1981. Their first big single was a cover of the Motown classic, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and Diana Ross’ “Remember Me” which featured Cynthia Manley on vocals. “Come And Get Your Love” is a cover of the Redbone pop-hit from 1973/ This production included Jackson Moore on lead vocals and is from their second album titled “Disc Charge”. The disco fluff here flows like magic as Motley was determined to bring the full orchestral and band sound of disco back to the early 80’s. The guitar riffs and excited chorus are the lead in on this remake and although it plays out a bit faster than the original it still gives off that 70s disco energy.
I have taken the album version of Boys Town Gang “Come And Get Your Love” and we aligned the track with a new arrangement for this ReStructure Mix. Some looping play on the original bass create new breaks and the wonderful vocals from Jackson still shine.
