ReStructure Mix Update (12/21/24):”Strange Love” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode is an English electronic band from 1980 consisting of Alan Wilder, Andrew Fletcher, Dave Gahan, Martin L. Gore and Vince Clarke. Their music was a heavy influence on the 80’s and began on dance floors and in speakers. “Strange Love” is a track from their 1987 project “Music For The Masses” - produced by David Bascombe, Daniel Miller and Depeche Mode. The years passed and Depeche Mode always fit in with their incredible use of phrases and potpourri of keyboard sounds. “Strange Love” is a moody piece reflecting on how a relationship works on the edge creating questions and pain. It is one of the tracks which I played most of DP and still resonates as a mystique in sound and words. A common left feeling front this talented ensemble.

I have taken the Maxi Mix of “Strange Love” and reworked the funked out rhythm tracks again in this ReStructure Mix. The flow of this new arrangement is a construction zone of brick after brick. A few new additions on percussion are pieced in as parsley on a fine piece main course.
