Frankie Valli began a recording career 1967 and
became an American icon in pop music. His move into the disco arena
came in 1976 with his album, "Fallen Angel" - it was the luck of the
dance floor to have a voice as Valli's to grace the rhythmic beats of
disco. His 1980 LP "Heaven Above Me" featured two disco hits, "Soul"
and "Heaven Above Me" - it was time when disco music in the US was
changing and yet this production brought it back to life once again.
I have taken the album version of "Soul" produced by by Bob Gaudio and featuring Gene Page on horns and strings and the incredible Greg Mathieson on rhythm arrangement. I have created a new ReStructure Mix which extends the conga and percussion elements and also the beautiful lush strings segments.
A big disco hit during the early 80s can be remembered again!
