ReStructure Mix Update (9/7/18) “Brown Sugar” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Man Parrish

ReStructure Mix Update (9/7/18) “Brown Sugar” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Man Parrish Man Parrish is one of the New York artists who took an early part of the 80s to rejuvenate electronic dance music. His first album introduced a fierce blend of street-beats, electro-vibes and an early high energy sound to dance floors. “Hip Hop Be Bop” is now a classic dance piece which helped to bring the street sound to many dance floors that many have been reluctant to feel the power behind this new concept. Man also produced many artists and continues to make dance floors his art form for club goers and dancers. “Brown Sugar” is a single released in 1987 and layers the sounds of percussion and Man Parrish’s style of keyboards which often bring back the innovation he created. This cover of The Rolling Stones classic is a dance intelligent move for a work which follows anything but standard. I have taken the 12” version of “Brown Sugar” using both vocal and instrumental to transform this cover into a semi-mashup with The Rolling Stones. It keeps the magic beats that Parrish has created and honors them in a new way.
