Sho Nuff is Al
Bell III, Bruce Means, Freddie Young, James Lewis, Lawrence Lewis and Lyn
Chambers – a funk/disco band from the late 70’s throughout the mid-80’s. Their
music is a definite move from the disco cream to a new brand of 80’s dance with
more of a band feel. “Tonite” is from their 1980 album by the same name and is
a memorable piece that is a touch of that dreamy groove with a nice underground
feel. The song was recorded again by Fern Kinney under the title “Love Me
Tonite” the following year which is the version that many disco audiophiles may
remember most. A beautiful piece done here with a lovely arrangement and
production.
I have taken the
album version along with the reprise track of “Tonite” and reworked a
ReStructure Mix for those who clamor for that funky mood with a love injection.
I have worked more of the drums into the verse along with a few new breaks.
