REISSUE: “Uptown Festival” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Shalamar

REISSUE:  “Uptown Festival” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Shalamar

Shalamar is one of disco music’s majestic pinnacles of sound. From their first album titled “Uptown Festival” produced by Simon Soussan (Arpeggio, French Kiss, Romance, Pattie Brooks) to their disco/funk recordings of the 80s and of course the solo careers of Jody Watley and Howard Hewitt. This pure disco medley with the title “Uptown Festival” features a Motown-classic packed disco gem. It features the lead vocals of Gary Mumford and lots of that Soussan-treatment meaning lots of disco-power. It is one of the great disco classics and should always be addressed so.

I have taken the album version of “Uptown Festival” and have given it a few new twists and turns in this ReStructure Mix. Only a few of the Motown hits are a part of this new mix but the resonance of the great toppers are evident and still create a stir.
