REISSUE: "Power" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Temptations

REISSUE: "Power" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Temptations

The Temptations are Motown powerhouse male groups who helped to shape soul music during the early 60s and create stage for male emotions. Their music remains timeless and full of a time period when the music scene was rejuvenated with creative talent and excitement. The group recorded from 1964 to present. In 1980 the group released “Power” produced by Barry Gordy and Angelo Bond – the title track was a pulsating funk song and although the arrangement followed a disco edge the vocals remained layered and continued to express the bands sole purpose.

I have taken the album version of “Power” and have reworked its political and spiritual theme in an extended format with a new jack-swing touch to wrap those vocals even more around your mind. The message may be varied from this number but perhaps in current years as it emphasizes a reality. The titled “Power” is what it has always been about – yet this time let’s focus on the “power” of the funk in the beat!
