REISSUE: "Sunset People" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Donna Summer “Bad Girls” marked a new start for Donna Summer in 1979 – and even though it seemed as though this were the last of her hardcore disco material prior to her “On The Radio” double LP set, it is with everything that change creates a new world for everyone. “Sunset People” was probably the most intense track from this double LP set and even though it has been the focus of a Video Mix recently (CLICK HERE to see) I have been driven to take this track and dissect it for a new ReStructure Mix. Donna gives a simple yet powerful performance on this cut and even though it seems the song has been redone over and over – never seems to hit the spot as this original track with her sensual vocals and Giorgio Moroder’s incredible sequencer and keyboard performance. ReStructure Mixes are not intended to be “the mix” – but just another as in the day when I would hear music completely different each night and in complete awe of a new sound all-together. I dedicate this track to Ben Tobias (who is no longer with us) and the jock that made my disco world a “heaven” with his beautiful mixes and insight on playing disco music.
