ReStructure Mix Update (1/23/20) “Open Mind” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Jean Luc Ponty

Jean Luc Ponty is one of artists whose longevity in music beginning in 1964 led his talent to be shared on dance floors in 1984. His project titled “Open Mind” contained the title track which brings to mind an essence of new age and a connection to a dance fusion. His violin performance follows closely what tracks like “Bolero” did in the 70’s in a new way. There is an 80’s exuberance to the sound of this track which pieces together the jazz edge of Luc Ponty and the world as it was for the time.

I have taken the album version of “Open Mind” and refused a new sound for this ReStructure Mix. I have added some familiar percussion tracks from Kat Mandu’s “The Break” and also some of the excitement of a great dance floor instrumental. It plays out again in a new way.
