REISSUE: “American Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Astaire

REISSUE: “American Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Astaire Astaire is a high energy/disco project from John Davies and Nigel Stock – and presented on the UK label Passion Records. One of the long standing groups from the 80’s that delivered a consistent stream of dance floor hits that now are classics. “American Love” is their 1994 release which is a cover of the Rose Laurens 1986 song. It is a tough call to take on a club classic which became a hit overnight yet Astaire takes a mild over-dub of the track using the identical arrangement with only a small touch of a house rhythm guiding it. The new vocal is a nice reference to the original without Rose Lauren’s unique breathy sound. This one is great in that it brings the classic back into light with some nice beams. I have taken the 12” of Astaire’s cover of “American Love:” and reworked a new ReStructure Mix with a focus on the beats and rhythm. A new percussion and beat track is added to give it a new energy and pieces of the song are placed into a new story.
