REISSUE: “Dirty Ol’ Man” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Three Degrees

REISSUE: “Dirty Ol’ Man” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Three Degrees The Three Degrees brought the Philly Sound into a new realm with their 1973 self-titled album – including the timeless ballad “When Will I See You Again”, “Year Of Decision” and “Dirty Ol’ Man” - a Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff gem with all of the poise perfect for these ladies. “Dirty Ol’ Man” is a play on tiresome advances from an interested party who doesn’t seem to get the message these ladies are giving. It is sweet indiscretion for the focus of our little drama and appropriate for the time. I have taken the 12” version remixed by Tom Moulton and played out a drum filled ReStructure Mix with a “dirty” synth pattern borrowed from Patrick Cowley’s production of Sarah Dash’s “Low Down Dirty Rhythm”. This one is layered and layered with more of the groove that makes it a Philly classic. Intended for fun and a new take.
