A Certain Ratio is a British indie-band formed in the late 70’s and featured
Andy Connell, Denise Johnson, Donald Johnson, Jez Kerr, Liam Mullan, Martha Tilson, Martin Moscrop, Matt Steele, Peter Terrell, Simon Topping and Tony Quigley. During the late 80’s their project titled “Good Together” was noted for a single titled “Your Blue Eyes” – which is an outline for a light grunge sound with a touch of 60’s psychedelia added. The single was an alternative piece which if lucky enough your dance floor inserted the track at the right moment to keep the energy flowing with the drums and high end indie rock feel. One of the tracks which I promoted as a diverse number which would encompass a steel-like beauty with a rhythmic drum beat to power and sync onto the dance floor.
I have taken the 12” version of “Your Blue Eyes” and worked the original elements to pay tribute to this beautiful song in a ReStructure Mix. Focusing more on the drum tracks as a foundation and also adding more of the synthetic effects to bring portions of the song in a more dance underground arena.
