Prince is one of the artists who began his recording career in 1977 with the release of his project titled “For You” – which featured a diverse sound of his edge on funk and disco music. It was the early 80’s when his music began to move into a fusion of funk and new wave along with his hardcore messages and themes. “Sexy Dancer” is from his 1979 self-titled album and is one of the tracks which outline a sound which Prince has created from his own genius. The piece is a rhythmic dance track and moves into his own arena with his stripped down band sound and his funky guitars mainlining.
I have taken the album version of “Sexy Dancer” and re-funked the piece with more of a beat pumping intro for this ReStructure Mix. There are a few new breaks using the tag lines and chorus for a brisk new dance experience.
