"Take Off" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Harlow

• "Take Off" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Harlow

Disco music's transition to high-energy was a process that began in the early 80's. With projects like "Taking Off" by Harlow in 1980 - a Canadian studio group produced by Mike Alyanak and Alex Aleander a fusion of the smooth Euro-disco sound and the driving sound of the dance floor pulse. The LP was close to a latter-day Voyage or Cerrone effort.

"Take Off" became an instant dance floor track that was memorable and lasting from this period. It had the driving energy that dance floors were ready to turn their feet over and yet a beautiful arrangement and vocal track to last.

I was lucky enough to see Harlow perform at a club in Hollywood during the early 80's and experiencing this ensemble perform this song live was surprising - it was just as powerful.

My ReStructure is a homage to the track and dissects parts of the song into a whole me meaning.
