ReStructure Mix Update (1/10/20) “Brand New Lover” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Dead Or Alive

Dead Or Alive is one of the iconic bands of the 80’s. Their success during a period when synth-pop dance music was at its peak and a new aura was taking over. Pete Burns is the driving force of Dead Or Alive along with the frenetic production from Stock, Aitken and Waterman and together this combination took the late 80’s. “Brand New Lover” is the single from their album “Mad, Bad And Dangerous To Know” from 1987 and maintains the facelift that dance music was becoming following the high energy mark of the early 80’s. This one places Burns in a situation of uncertainty and ready to become another subject of uncommon movement. A classic among Dead Or Alive followers and one hard not to consume completely.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of “Brand New Lover” and reworked a ReStructure Mix with a winding intro and drop out exit. The new preface is only a salute to the band which made us all realize that a hard edge in dance music is only a gift.
