ReStructure Mix Update (2/19/20) “Heat You Up (Melt You Down)” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Shirley Lites

Shirley Lites is a West End Records artist who’s 1983 release “Heat You Up (Melt You Down)” made her a remedy for aching dance floors. The track was produced by Frank Fioravanti, Joe Parente and Lou Parente – and was one of the great tracks which helped to give clubs like Paradise Garage their iconic sound. The bass drums on a reverberating echo chamber are the deep hidden groove and help to bring out the sound of New York street music of the mid 80’s. The creation of a soulful diva waving her notes in and out of this melodic groove became one of this period of dance music its flair – similar to what Sharon Redd’s “Beat The Street” formulated in 1982. Shirley Lites plays out this night of exuberance like a pro with her wonderful accompaniment and soulful style. This is one of those dance floor moments that can only be explained when experienced however the lure is all about the mystique.

I have taken the 12” vocal and “melt down mix” into a new ReStructure Mix experience and reworked this fire into another play. It uses those thumping beats and smooth keyboards to capture the sound which got away much too soon.
