REISSUE: "Devil's Gun" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - C.J. & Company

Mixed by Tom Mouton and produced by Mike Theodore and Dennis Coffey. This exciting track made dance floors in 1977 take notice that a change was on it's way. The formation of the sound of a wicked bass line with percussion to match along with vocals taken directly from the essence of Motown and directed to a flowing beat. My ReStructure places the bass line into a new energy accentuated with new hand claps and arrangement to bring this track alive again.

Dedicated to Hank in Miami, Florida!

REISSUE: "La Vie En Rose" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Grace Jones

Grace Jones embarked upon discotheques with this trademark cut which took dance floors by storm. This classic track has been done over and over since with intent to take the track to a higher level - is it possible?

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Grace in all of her glory and powerful part in disco history!

REISSUE: “Young Guns (Go For It)” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Wham!

Wham! is one of the pop-groups of the 80s consisting of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. Their influence on the new dance movement of the 80s took the NY funk and gave it a lighter edge. “Young Guns (Go For It)” is from their 1983 album “Fantastic” – produced by Steve Brown and fits into a breaking of best friends as time moves on. It is one of the sounds of the 80s pop dance scene which explores a whole new audience and message. Pieces of a familiar Prelude classic add to its unique edge.

I have taken the 12” version of “Young Guns (Go For It)” and created a deeper rolling bass piece to give this ReStructure Mix a different feel and arrangement. It is flares out in the same way but at different times. It is another Special Edition to celebrate the continuance of what disco music created in the seventies and also pay homage to the talent and recent passing of Mr. George Michael.

REISSUE: “Material Girl” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Madonna

Madonna recorded her second album in 1984 with huge dance hit “Like A Virgin” leading the success again. This project being the pop-iconic style for the early 80s dance scene and becoming a part of music history. “Material Girl” is another single from this production from Nile Rodgers (of Chic) and also co-written by Peter Brown (“Dance With Me”, “Crank It Up”). A huge album for Madonna and thanks to an adoring fan base and pop-movement this piece has become one the most memorable of the time period.

I have taken the 12” single (mixed by John “Jellybean” Benitez) and created a ReStructure Mix with more of the theme from the fabulous video with Madonna adorning the jewels and men as Marilyn Monroe. This play is more based on the inserts from Marilyn and homage to the 80s pop dance scene.

REISSUE: “Another One Bites The Dust” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Queen

Queen is one of the 70’s rock bands whose innovative creative process paved their success in the early 80s in a new genre of pop music. Their past rock operatic numbers are the highlight of Queen and the fabulous lead vocal from Freddie Mercury. “Another One Bites The Dust” comes from their 1980 album “The Game” which began another trend of an intricate bass loop bringing a song to its higher life. This one plays out as a heartbreak number vs. an Old West shootout. It is the true rock edge played out in full.

I have taken the album version, instrumental and accapella to recreate this standoff in ReStructure Mix format. There is a new arrangement and use of the classic lead and bass guitar riffs. A bit of play with Freddie’s vocal is another opportunity to hear the power and control of a great vocalist.

LOVE EYES - The Look

LOVE EYES - The Look

"Sound Of My Heart" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sleeping Lions - https://youtu.be/tD6bxpd1tQ0
"So Close To Heaven" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Trix - https://youtu.be/Rmey1800Tno
"Heaven Above Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Frankie Valli - https://youtu.be/1ck3Uxyone8
"I Wanna Take You Home" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Patrick Cowley - https://youtu.be/8RRjZDDfPNA
“Love Eyes” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ferrara - https://youtu.be/8Y_WxaV_OyA

REISSUE: “Love Eyes” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Ferrara

John Ferrara is a disco producer who worked at the peak of disco music to move into an electronic stage of dance music. Much of the album “Wuthering Heights” is an experimental recording and listed in credits percussion player with ‘traps’ – which may have been those sharp slap effects in “Shake It Baby Love”. “Love Eyes” is the last cut on side two before the reprise of the big club hit, “Love Attack”. Even today “Love Attack” remains a great piece of disco work summoning the high energy era of the early and mid-80s. The opera-like chorus in most of the album is reminiscent of a theme project from Alec R. Costandinos where a story is being told disco/Broadway style. “Love Eyes” is a simple and somewhat crowded piece in the side two medleys – yet the yearning and melodic vocals have always drawn me and others who may have been enchanted by the project. This one may have been the rough draft for later electronic disco recordings like “Shanghaied” – also from Ferrara as you can hear many new features in the production that rely on new ideas.

I have taken the short “Love Eyes” segment from the medley and created a ReStructure Mix bring out more of the sounds and effects that made this album a classic. More focused on extending the track since it contains the parts which Ferrara had researched with club disc jockeys in the late 70s to find what dance floors were reacting to.

REISSUE: "I Wanna Take You Home" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Patrick Cowley

Patrick Cowley made a mark in the 80s with his electronic sound introduced earlier on his work with projects by Sylvester, Fever, Brenda Mitchell and Beckie Bell. A rolling synthesizer and psychedelic-60 keyboard riffs were the stamps which gave Cowley a place on hardcore dance floors and a hard sound to forget for those who were accustomed to disco music with orchestral and band arrangements. During a period when disco music moved underground. It was a great time for discovering independent artists and label recording new music rather than recreate and duplicate to monopolize on sales rather than creative movement.

“I Wanna Take You Home” is from Patrick Cowley’s album “Menergy” from 1981 and created a double sided 12” release for his first single. It was a huge hit and gave dancers the disco beat with a new edge. I have taken the original 12” version to blend this ReStructure Mix using some of Cowley’s magic from “Megatron Man” and also rearranging the song for a longer and brighter feel.

REISSUE: "Heaven Above Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Frankie Valli

A voice that is recognized from the first note - Mr. Frankie Valli. Taking his talent onto the disco floor once again with producer Bob Gaudio and the help of Mr. Bob Esty on "Heaven Above Me".

A hardcore dance piece with more of an early morning feel - very beautiful and lilting. My ReStructure Mix only extends the intro adding a few new drum tracks, effects and a dramatic crescendo - right at the opening.

A classic disco mood with the man himself.

REISSUE: "So Close To Heaven" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Trix

Trix is a group consisting of triplet sisters from Buenos Aires, Argentina - Maria Laura, Maria Emilia and Maria Eugenia Fernández - the groups actual name is Las Trillizas De Oro - which translates into "The Triplets of Gold".

"So Close To Heaven" is from their second album from 1981 produced by Jimmy Lim. The track was a single released in The Netherlands backed with "Just Wanna Dance Tonight"another big high-NRG hit. "So Close To Heaven" was also featured on the disc jockey subscription service Hot Tracks in a medley called "Heavenly Medley".

I have taken the 4:38 minute 12" version and extended and ReStructured into a whole new arrangement and extended some of the "heavenly" parts of the song. It is a song that once I hear I cannot stop singing in my head. It has such an uplifting and sweet sound.

REISSUE: "Sound Of My Heart" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Sleeping Lions

Sleeping Lions are Gaynor Sadler, N. Sadler and Tony Sadler - a trio which began as a nu-wave act and then recorded one of the 80s most memorable high-NRG love songs - "Sound Of Heart" in 1983. You may be taken back to the 60s with the feel of this classic. It has a bubbly and uplifting energy with the touch of 60s British pop.

I have taken the 12" - both the "Slightly Baroque" and "Heart Version" and created a new ReStructure Mix - a new intro and a few more lengthy breaks and a mix out.

Another favorite of mine and any other dancer or disc jockey who admires beautiful dance music.

NEW DAY 4 OLD SCHOOL - The Funk Is Up!

"And Love Goes On" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Earth Wind & Fire - https://youtu.be/gWAe-5Ag8MU

REISSUE: "And Love Goes On" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Earth Wind & Fire

Earth Wind & Fire created a pinnacle sound in soul/funk and disco music during the early 70s. A legacy of energy and peace is always injected in their music. From their 1980 album “Faces” comes the single, “And Love Goes On” – once again outlining the emotions which pour from a pure and unified heart in the kingdom of Earth Wind & Fire.

I have taken the album version of “And Love Goes On” and have given it an alternative arrangement in this ReStructure Mix – giving the intro a longer induction to the swirling chorus which is accentuated with t\hose classic horns.

REISSUE: “Change Your Wicked Ways” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Pennye Ford

Pennye Ford is a soul/funk singer and songwriter who took the early 80s on a funk trip with her single “Change Your Wicked Ways” – from her album titled “Pennye” produced by Lonnie Simmons (The Gap Band). The single was a huge hit in my clubs of the time and also brought to mind the power of a great soulful vocal and how it adds movement to the existing beats. Pennye makes this work with a slick and sassy approach that brings to mind the classic approach of Chaka Khan. The track has the feel of a DJ record with the beat and groove spelled out in many ways.

I have taken the “DJ Mix” 12” single using both the “Extended Version” and “Dub Version” to recreate a thumping ReStructure Mix with a few new surprises – including a beat pattern from Pennye’s sister Sharon Redd’s classic “Beat The Street”. It is a tribute to the talent of a great soul vocalist and her own stage which could also be heard in projects by George Clinton, Snap! And Soul II Soul.

This ReStructure Mix is dedicated to Ms. Penny Ford – thank you Penny and please keep giving us your soul – we can use the magic!

REISSUE: "Flowers” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Emotions

The Emotions brought hope, love and peace to the world in 1976 with their single “Flowers” from the album by the same name. Produced by Charles Stepney and Maurice White (Earth Wind and Fire) – this movement for these ladies plays an important part of dance music history. “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love” is a part of this package and also lays out the soulful groove along with funk which quickly became a part of discotheques and radio playlists. “Flowers” is also a light and cha-cha infused groove that always brings to mind the effectiveness of a sweet soulful choir over a dance rhythm. One of the most powerful pieces from these lovely ladies: Jeanette Hawes, Sheila Hutchinson and Wanda Hutchinson.

I have taken the 12”/ album version of “Flowers” and have given this beautiful number a ReStructure Mix which uses the lovely vocals to the benefit of an alternative early morning mix. It gives way to the nice rhythm which exists and adds a few more percussion parts to add more of a dip to that stride.

REISSUE: "Lovergirl" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Teena Marie

Teena Marie (Mary Christine Brockert) was a breakthrough R&B singer, songwriter and producer arriving at the tail end of the disco era. Her music has always played out with a full arrangement enhancing tracks like “Lovergirl” from 1984. During the early 80s and the repackaging of disco as pop-dance Teena had the ability to create a stage for her soulful delivery and funk-driven energy.

I have taken the 12” single “vocal” and “dub” to create a playful ReStructure Mix which takes Teena on a few detours along the way to deliver her message. I have used some deeper segments with a thumping beat along with pieces of the original arrangement to speak the message of “Lovergirl” in a new way. A bit more drops to let the words fade into mind and feet.

REISSUE: "Too Tight" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Con Funk Shun

Con Funk Shun was created by Louis A. McCall and Michael V. Cooper - a popular R&B and funk ensemble whose #1 Billboard hit "Ffun" is now an old school classic.

Their 1980 LP "Touch" contained the big dance single "Too Tight" that brought the funk back to many dance floors in the early 80's - this one followed their big hit from the same year, "Got To Be Enough".

I have ReStructured the track to give it a longer arrangement and bring out that beautiful keyboard break with the lovely string section - and also enhance on the tracks already funky style with a new electro-vibe layer.

Dedicated to the band - Con Funk Shun - let them "con-funk-shunize ya!"

ReStructure Mix Update (12/17/21) “Every 1’s A Winner’” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Monkey Business

Monkey Business is an Italo-disco session led by producers, Alvaro Ugolini and Dario Raimondi (Fun Fun, Advance, Vivian Vee) who took over the mid-80’s with their slick productions on high energy and Italo-house. “Every 1’s A Winner” is their "hott" take on the 1978 disco classic by Hot Chocolate. This one takes the track on an energy ride and transforms it into a roaring dance piece. Vocals are revamped in a falsetto which works wonders and gives it a whole new feel. This one was a huge and immediate success giving Italo-disco another breath in 1987 on dance floors.

I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of Monkey Business’ “Every 1’s A Winner” and re-powered the track for a new ReStructure Mix. I have pieced together the elements that set fire again to the disco classic and rearranged the rolling energy to a new experience.

REISSUE: "More Than A Woman" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bee Gees

In 1977 disco music began a new phase of success – with the soundtrack to “Saturday Night Fever” released as a double LP and featuring music from the long-runners of pop, The Bee Gees.

One of the most beautiful disco tracks has since been “More Than A Woman” – which is also featured during the highlights of the film. The track has always run 3 minutes short on the soundtrack and has been covered from day one – featured on the original soundtrack by Tavares. But no one has been able to recreate the beauty that the Bee Gees mastered on their version.

I have taken the original track and extended it to a long running 10 minutes with lots of loops, phasing and keeping intact the beautiful vocals and flow of the original.

Dedicated to those mirror ball fans of the disco craze and then beauty of disco music, which lasts forever.

REISSUE: “Love You Inside Out" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bee Gees

Another Bee Gee's standard from their "Spirits Having Flown" LP - this cut deserved the funkiest reception being a true love song and in the flavor of their sweetest vocals. Tracking this number gave me a need to give it a cure for not only extension, but also embellish the lyrics and groovy guitar tracks.

REISSUE: "Tragedy" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Bee Gees

Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and the late Maurice Gibb are the Bee Gees - their music of the 70s is an essential part of music history. It has paved a direct connection to pop, dance and soul music in both production and influence.

Their 1979 LP "Spirits Having Flowing" is one of the most awaited of the time as their stardom approached the next hit. "Tragedy" is the single from the album and displays a great tone of feeling and drama with the theme of heartbreak.

I have taken the 12" version and ReStructured the track for a new extended synth-movement feel - it was a project that came as it was created.

REISSUE: “Boys Do Fall In Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Robin Gibb

Robin Gibb is one of the voices of the Bee Gees phenomena of the 70’s were funk reared a new face with songs like “Jive Talkin’”. Robin Gibb released his third solo album in 1984 titled “Secret Agent” which included tracks produced by Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa creators of The Shannon Sound (“Let The Music Play”). “Boys Do Fall In Love” is a track with the stamp of these innovators of electronic-street-funk and along with Gibb’s 50’s edge vocal delivery gives this one a unique feel. The track did extremely well as a pop-dance track in many clubs and welcomed the one of the most talented songwriters, producers and artists of the 70’s.

I have taken the 12” version of “Boys Do Fall In Love” and blew out the street-edge and worked more of a dub-underground dance palace feel in this ReStructure Mix. More of the groovy vocal pieces are extended to make this one bring back the return of Robin Gibb on his solo efforts which has always been one of my favorites.

REISSUE: “Shadow Dancing” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Andy Gibb

Andy Gibb is one of the younger siblings of the Bee Gee’s trio. His solo career as a pop singer and teen idol began in 1977 and following the release of his single “Shadow Dancing” in 1978 a whole new audience and following of the funky-pop edge was created. The track was produced by Albhy Galuten and Barry Gibb with the sound that the Bee Gees molded in the mid-70s. It is more of a radio success than club although many jocks with dancers yearning for that Bee Gees edge found it a nice bump and grind piece.

I have taken the 12” extended version of “Shadow Dancing” and created a new ReStructure Mix with more rhythm break-down and some play with segments of the vocal. It plays out more like a dub mix during the last breath – but also stays true to the original mix.

“Substitute" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gloria Gaynor - https://youtu.be/Sde0wqEmh50

REISSUE: “Substitute" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor is the elegant soul diva of disco! Her vocals have brought many dancers and music lovers to the heavens with her lovely and smooth approach. Gloria's first project, "Never Can Say Goodbye" on MGM Records was an instant hit on dance floors and was the first disco record to offer a non-stop medley of dance covers - assembled by the legendary, Tom Moulton.

Her fifth album during the big disco boom in 1978, "Love Tracks" contained a single which was assumed as the big hit of the project - "Substitute". It is said that "I Will Survive" was placed as a B-side for the single but became the classic anthem standing on its own and even today being the most requested and played disco track ever.

I have taken the 12" version of "Substitute" and have given it a ReStructure Mix to bring that wonderful pop-disco sound with a 50s flavor. Produced by Dino Fekaris and Freddie Perren this classic album is a mature sound for a disco performer who worked so immensely at her growing style.

REISSUE: "Tonight" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor was recording disco music since 1974 keeping time with the motion of dance floors. Her 1978 hit "I Will Survive" has become more than a Top 10 Disco Hit - it is a world anthem.

In 1979 she released her follow up to "I Will Survive" - an LP titled "I Have A Right" produced by Dino Fekaris and Freddie Perren. The project included a cover of the "West Side Story" song, "Tonight" with music by Leonard Bernstein and the lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Gaynor does an excellent job at making this track a monument along with the swirling arrangement and continuous build.

I have taken the track in a ReStructure Mix with request of Hank from Miami. The song is given a new intro and breakdown with more definition.

REISSUE: “I Will Survive” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor’s 1978 album “Love Tracks” brought the anthem of power and self-love to life with “I Will Survive” – produced by Dino Fekaris. The classic is among the top10 and continues to bring new light of hope even today. As the B-side to the 12” “Substitute” this one had the power to not only reverse the labeling element but also mend broken hearts and strengthen the disco movement of the late 70s.

I have taken the 12” of “I Will Survive” and reworked a ReStructure Mix which focuses a bit more on breakdowns of the ‘glorious’ take told here. A more rhythmic appeal and approach to the original and yet leaving none of the classical elements apart. A tough act to amend yet allot of fun!

REISSUE: “Stop In The Name Of Love” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor is disco music’s muse. Her voice has been the soulful sound of disco music since the inception of her recording career in 1975. “Stop In The Name Of Love” is her cover of the Motown classic from Diana Ross and The Supremes. It is from her project “Gloria Gaynor” released in 1982 and produced by Amir Bayyan. This is one of the most in-depth approaches at a cover of a classic where it is completely edged with a new sound as Gloria’s vocals transform the pop track into a soulful rendition. A nice rhythm and blues arrangement and sound make it shine as if it were bringing the song to light for the first time.

I have taken the 12” version of Gloria’s “Stop in The Name Of Love” and revised it again for this ReStructure Mix. There is a longer intro and a take on the original arrangement for a new approach.

REISSUE: “Let Me Know (I Have A Right)” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Gloria Gaynor

Gloria Gaynor built her stance in disco music on experience. Her first big dance floor hit from 1974 “Never Can Say Goodbye” is a classic which lays out the disco experience from the vocal and also technical end thanks to Tom Moulton’s endless mix. Her big follow up hit from 1978 was the anthem “I Will Survive” which is now a standard among others today. Her 1979 album produced by Dino Fekaris was a tough venture to the follow up on her previous hit but Gloria attains that challenge with another demand on taking on heartache and building a positive end. “Let Me Know (I Have A Right) is another anthem in a more subtle manner although Gloria’s performance stands true to the moment.

I have taken the album version of “Let Me Know (I Have A Right)” and recreated a new ReStructure Mix with a new energy adding some drum and percussion. There is a bit more of the instrumental weaved in and out to outline the production of the original.

NEXT ReSTRUCTURE MIX: "Every 1's A Winner" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Monkey Business

NEXT ReSTRUCTURE MIX: "Every 1's A Winner"
- Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Monkey Business

ReStructure Mix Update (12/12/21) “That’s What Keeps ‘Em Dancin’” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Persia

Persia is disco project produced by 70’s pop-singer/songwriter Kenny Nolan (“I Like Dreamin'”) and features Zell Black (“I Been Had By The Devil”) along with Munich engineer Jurgen Koppers. Their self-titled project from 1979 was known to many discophiles thanks to their first single from the album titled “Inch By Inch”. The group was obviously formulated to be a disco band and unfortunately was a closing of the disco era of timing. “That’s What Keeps ‘Em Dancin’” is another track from the project which always reminded me of the pop-essence of disco music and the influence it created. The piece has a touch of a light-rock feel and may have been that energy which brought the disco era to the success it became.

I have taken the album version of “That’s What Keeps ‘Em Danciin'’” and relit this flame for a new ReStructure Mix. I have added a techno-edge to the new outline and pieced together the disco-rockin’ sound to bring a tribute to Kenny Nolan, Jurgen Koppers and vocalist, Ms. Zell Black.

“Run To Me” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Tracy Spencer - https://youtu.be/4fI1cMumC2w

REISSUE: “Run To Me” – Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Tracy Spencer

Tracy Spencer (Louise Tracy Freeman) released several Italo-disco singles in the mid and late 80s. Her album titled “Tracy” from 1987 featured her 1985 single “Run To Me” which was one of the big Italo-dance hits of my club. A nice beat infused with heavy bongo fills and a flip-side which brings the track into a hot instrumental dub. A touch of the Stock Aitken Waterman sound with the sweet influence of Italo-disco.

I have taken the 12” vocal and “Ma-Ma-Run” dub side to create a new ReStructure Mix with a new breakdown of the song and a rearrangement of the verses. It always makes me feel good to hear one of the pumping dance tracks which play out with a melodic and flowing resonance. “Run To Me” is just one of those pieces.

REISSUE: “Get A Little” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Patrick Cowley

Patrick Cowley has taken the legacy of Giorgio Moroder from the mid-70’s and transformed the gadgetry of electronics and applied them with his heart and mind. Cowley’s use of keyboards and synthesizers were applied as if a 50’s sci-fi flick was in use of an extreme soundtrack. In the underground tradition of disco and club music this was again a return to the basics and the stripped production. “Get A Little” is from the album “Megatron Man” from 1981 which catapulted his dance floor fame to a higher plane than his earlier “Menergy” project. It was obvious that the 80’s were still a place for adventurous dance music. This track features the vocals of Carol McMackin, Jo-Carol Block and Lauren Carter also known as Jo-Lo.

I have taken the album version of “Get A Little” and worked some swirling effects into a new psychedelic ReStructure Mix. It is where I feel Cowley was directing his sound. There are more looped effects and drop-ins to give the song a new feel.

REISSUE: "What I Do To Men" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Ann Margret

Ann Margret is an actress and singer from the 60s. Her career began when she was discovered by George Burns as she was performing in a nightclub. Much of Ann's work during the 60s were the musicals and film credits which placed her in the role of the "sex-kitten" or the female counter part to Elvis Presley.

In 1979 Ann released a disco project which featured her single "Love Rush". Produced by disco producer, Paul Sabu (Debbie Jacobs, Sister Power) and fitting for a new age of sexy-cover for Ms. Margret during the disco era.

I have taken the album version of "What I Do To Men" and have given it a ReStructure Mix - pulling out the synth and bass to give the track a longer groove. Ann sings about the mystique of her effect on men and then takes the opportunity to work it again. A great camp track and also a nice play for Ann's sexy vocal.

REISSUE: “Fire Fly” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Azoto

Azoto is an Italo-disco project from producer/arranger Celso Valli. The disco band was originally called Lucrethia And The Azoto 14,008 on their first project from 1978 titled “Dance Skinsation” and brought Italo-disco into the limelight with the uplifting tracks and electronic fused arrangements. “Fire Fly” is a symbolic love song of a relationship that only takes place at night – most likely at the club – and the excitement brings the guidance of a light in dark. The flowing and bass looping sound is the perfect edge for the oddness of the Azoto chorus which always has a childlike sound.

I have taken the album version of “Fire Fly” and used the rolling bass a new foundation for this ReStructure Mix. It plays out with some new breaks and segues created with parts and pieces of the songs riffs.

REISSUE: “Leave That Boy Alone” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Poussez!

Poussez! Is a disco project from producer Alphonse Mouzon and contributed to the 1979 dance phenomenon. The project titled “Poussez!” contained not only 4 tracks which all make the classic disco lists but also the vocalist who made it all happen – Ms. Christine Wiltshire (Musique, Center Stage, Phreek, Class Action, Aural Exciters). The vocal delivery on the initial album is the essence of Poussez! The single “Leave That Boy Alone” is from their second album released in 1980 and minus Ms. Wiltshire features Connie Harvey and Janet Wright. The production is less chic disco and more into the electronic 80’s disco camp. The sound is more camp edged and falsetto. The anticipation of the project is what maintains it as a remembered moment in disco history.

I have taken the 12” version of “Leave That Boy Alone” and reweaved a new ReStructure Mix and bring back Ms. Wiltshire in a cameo. The outline had a bit more of a dub conciseness and more play with the concept of the song.

REISSUE: "Back To You" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Crystal In The Pink

80's high energy took a turn back to the lyrical feel of classic disco with sharp edged synthesizers and pumping bass lines - "Back To You" by Crystal In The Pink from 1987 is a Vincent Degiorgio masterpiece of such a record. Emotion and intense dancing are a big piece of this Canadian disco track from Power Records.

I have ReStructured "Back To You" using the 1987 Remix version and extending portions of the wailing guitars and Downtown bass!

REISSUE: "Paradise Island" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - The Wonderland Band

One of the last big disco productions - The Wonderland Band is a campy studio session with the theme of super-heroes. With Wonder Woman and Superman included. But, the production gives off the serious end of the full and satisfying disco sound.

"Paradise Island" is another track from the album that explores a make-believe place where love and happiness grown and mystery and intrigue are alive. This is the perfect disco fantasy and rightfully so. The flashing lights and and freedom on the floor are endless if you understand and let yourself go.

I have ReStructured the 12" remix into a new atmosphere keeping in mind that this song soars several times into a place where the dance floor can take advantage of. It has a bit more breakdowns and slices the long drum break into segments.

This production was by Morrie Brown and features lead vocals by Deedee Dennard and backing by Clydene Jackson, Julia Waters and Maxine Waters.

REISSUE: "Fire In My Heart" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - Madleen Kane

Madleen Kane graced disco music with a presence of beauty and style of dance music that is both sexy and infectious. The Swedish born star is referred to quite often among disco audiophiles.

Her 1981 LP "Don't Wanna Lose You" was a big success on dance floors - produced by Giorgio Moroder it was a match made for discotheques.

"Fire In My Heart" was one of the first singles released from the LP along with "You Can". It is one of those tracks that gives  the floor an energy that won't go away simply by lifting a needle off of the record - this one haunts the mind.

My ReStructure mix give this track a spread out arrangement with a few surprises along the way.

REISSUE: "Lay All Your Love On Me" - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix - ABBA

The big one! It brought ABBA back to the dance floors with open arms - during a period where high energy/disco music was scarce with the exceptions of a few import singles. The keyboards are the pulsing energy behind this number and I have taken each chord and placed into a new outline. Paul asked about a couple of ABBA ReStructure's and this is one of them.
