REISSUE: “Breakdance” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Irene Cara

REISSUE: “Breakdance” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Irene Cara Irene Cara is best known for her dance anthems “Fame” and “Flashdance...What A Felling” during the late 70’s and early 80’s. Her 1983 project with Giorgio Moroder featured several tracks that became more fan adored with the production of 80’s synth-pop more favored. “Breakdance” is a single that became one of the tracks that emerged and is one of the Moroder-esque sounds of the 80’s with his jittery sequencers jumping all over the beats. It is a short but mentionable track that celebrates the 80’s street dance that became one of the visuals for a new brand of music of the time. Mostly inspired by rap and street beats this electronic energy driven anthem plays out like a cascade of keyboards pouring out the mood. It is a Moroder project that echoes his work during the early 80’s where he found himself quite busy on many projects. I have taken the 12” vocal and dub and reworked a new ReStructure Mix using loops and edits to revisit “Breakdance”. More of the verses and choruses are rearranged to give this remix more of a break-down for the instrumental.
