ReStructure Mix Update (3/1/21) “Tokyo” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Donna Summer

Donna Summer is not only one of the most incredible voices in the music industry – she is also one of the most driving in momentum for keeping her music and presence alive. Following the disco she released several projects displaying her vocal and versatile talents. “Tokyo” is from her 19863 album titled “She Works Hard For The Money” – produced by Michael Omartian. The track is a slight shift from her pop-synth dance material with a touch of light jazz infused. The tale of her travel and fond connection to this place make way for a nice transformation for her vocals again as most hardcore fans could never get enough of. The bridge of this track are what lure me into it in memory and paying tribute to it and Ms. Summer are always in the back of my mind.

I have taken the album version of “Tokyo” and pitched it up a few for this ReStructure Mix. I have added a few new percussion riffs and played with the existing drum and keyboard parts to create a more under-tone to the song.
