ReStructure Mix Update (3/15/21) “Flash” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – The Flash Back Band
The Flash Back Band is an Italo-disco project from Gilberto Gattei and Max Sierra and was released in 1983. The prime time for innovative Italian disco music was the period where many releases held a unique form and sound along with the heavy beats, bass and sequencers. “Flash” is originally a segmentation of jazz fell horns dueling with the disco keyboard riffs. A single that held many riffs which took the edge of dance music from the period and placed them into a new realm. This one was more of an early evening warm up track which would build and drop into complete silence. More of a jam session complete with the sequencers and breaks.
I have taken the 12” version of “Flash” on the Il Discotto Productions label and realigned the instrumental with some new energy and theme. Adding the main theme from the 1980 film “Flash Gordon” performed by Queen into the mix to give the title new drama. There are some breaks along the way and hope that this “Flash” can rejuvenate your ears.
