ReStructure Mix Update (3/6/21) “Sweet Dreams” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Hip On Ice
Hip On ice is a German electronic dance project from Alexander Henninger who is better known as the innovator on 80’s dance ensembles Micro Chip League, Deborah Sassoon, Celebrate The Nun, J.W.B. Hits The Beat and Axodry on the Westside Music Label. The mid and closing years of the 80’s made many hardcore projects using the elements of sounds which were incorporated in dance music during the creative and innovation. “Sweet Dreams” is a synth-pop track that takes the mood into an industrial feel of works. Much like the work with Micro Chip League, Alexander brings this one into a dark edge where night feels like a hardcore fantasy. A nice deep sound that is appropriately influenced by Kraftwerk and the synth period of disco music. “Sweet Dreams” always reminded me of a Bowie vocal floating over a light Bronski Beat sound. Successful to me and one of the big picks for my dance floor of the time.
I have taken the 12” versions of “Sweet Dreams” and used segments of each to recreate a new experience in this ReStructure Mix. The electronic sequencers are tagged and used for more mystique and the “Missing The Days” mix to calm down the moody exchange.
