ReStructure Mix Update (11/14/21) “Maneater” - Glenn Rivera ReStructure Mix – Daryl Hall and John Oates

Hall and Oates are one of the lasting duos from 1967 to current where they continue to record live and new material as the band. “Maneater” comes at their second career recharge in the early 80’s – it is a warning regarding a figure in the clubs who works her beauty to take from unsuspecting men who believe she is theirs. Sounds a bit complicated, but with the tables turned on the sexes this track sizzles brightly as a sort of anthem. The guitar work of course from John Hall is another outline for their return in the 80’s and Daryl Hall brings his blue eyes soul feel to this pop-dance piece The bassline always reminded us of the Motown classic “You Can’t Hurry Love” but even with the echoes this Hall and Oates number still works on its own.

I have taken the album and instrumental versions of “Maneater” and re-tracked the bass beats and some new drums for this ReStructure Mix. There is more of the moody and mystical night music for a lasting effect and added a few breaks along the path.
