Magic Lady is a funk dance ensemble from producer Michael Stokes – who brought us Creative Source, Enchantment and the garage classic by Keith Barrow “Turn Me Up”. Their second project titled “Hot 'n' Sassy” from 1982 features Jackie Ball, Kimberly Ball, and Linda Stokes on vocals and Greg Phillinganes on synthesizers. “Red Hot Stuff” was released as the single in 1982 and was a nice funk dance track which featured an introduction to Magic Lady and what they are presenting. This one was on my top 10 list during its release for quite some time and always had the floor in its groove.
I have taken the 12” vocal and dub mix and reworked the “hot stuff” into a new ReStructure Mix. More drums, bongos and percussion are added to give way to more of the energy that this numbers transmits.
