Cabballero is Ricco Raggazzi, Ronald Bähr – a Eurodance studio group whose repertoire includes their covers of classic 80’s dance tracks and a few disco classics. Their electronic productions are powerful and motivating where the riffs take over and create a techno influence. “Sleepin’ (Now That You’re Gone” is their cover of Rick Astley’s 2001 track – and although their version was released in 2004 there is newness with energy about this dance version. The vocals are close to the original and play out as a nice heartbreak drama over the pumping Eurodance groove. This track is one of those that is haunting for the mind and moving for the feet.
I have taken the 12” vocal and instrumental of Cabballero’s “Sleepin’ (Now That You’re Gone)” and redesigned a ReStructure Mix. This one lends more to the sound of those bass sequencers and thumping of those beats – a classic Moroder riff is used throughout to make this one pop even more.
