C.M. Lord (Catherine Mitchell Lord) is a soul vocalist, songwriter and producer who began her recording career in 1976. “You’re The Only One” is a single released in 1983 on a new dance label titled Wave Records and produced by Pete Robinson and C.M. Lord. This is one of the tracks from 1983 which encompass the power of disco music and the move onto the electronic arrangements of the early 80’s: a soulful synth-pop alternative. Vocals are the main point in this piece and give Lord an opportunity to express in her hearty delivery a love that is undeniable and ready. A big club record that has the energy and soul that makes the 80’s dance floor once again stand out as a unique experience to be discovered.
I have taken the Disconet remix of “You’re The Only One” and pieces of the original 12” release to make a mark in this ReStructure Mix. More of the funky keyboards are laid out in segments to bring back that hip shaking feel along with more breaks to stay out on the floor for.
