Salazar is vocalist Pete Salazar and producer David Perry (Carrie Laporte, The Redz) and released the first project in 1980 containing a cover of Frankie Valli and The Four Season’s 1965 pop hit “Let’s Hang On”. It is no surprise that Salazar as lead vocalist is a Valli sound alike and brings this one not only home but keeps us warm all over again. The song itself is a strong yearning to continue to work with a relationship with so much promise. It is a great dance floor rejuvenator in the disco realm since it has such a positive feel and energy. The production is a post-disco sound with plenty of lite percussion placed in segments where we can bring ourselves to feeling the uplifting sound.
I have taken the 12” version of Salazar’s “Let’s Hang On” and reimagined the track with some new features for this ReStructure Mix. An extension of the greater parts of the chorus breakdowns and a few new realigned moments.
